Ole Miss Pulls Offer From Former LSU Staffer Austin Thomas

By Staff ReporterFeb 2, 20186:05 pmDiscuss the story24
An already rocky offseason for Austin Thomas continues on.

The Franklin, Tenn. native served as LSU's General Manager since 2016 but resigned in December to accept the same position at Tennessee. Once Thomas got to Knoxville the title and responsibility under new head coach Jeremy Pruitt did not work out for either party and the deal fell through.

Thomas was reportedly set to join Ole Miss' staff this week as the Associate AD for Player Personnel but had his offer pulled by Rebels. Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork made this statement about the situation:

It will be interesting to see where Thomas ends up.

Organizations are bigger than individuals. Sounds like someone forgot that.

They pulled the offer because he was indecisive. I mean, in fairness, who really “wants to be at Ole Miss.”

almost sounds like there is a potential NCAA investigation lurking around Thomas that the Universities got wind of after the offers and then pull the offer...no inside info just trying to guess what might be going on

Almost sounds as though he’s got some mental disorders with how he’s been acting.

Our AD was the only one dumb enough to fall for his binder trick...

No logic in your take at all.
You are just a sour individual.

LSU football could probably use another equipment manager

Comments like this make me chuckle. This is an internet forum. Anything and everything is fair game.

"Comments like this make me chuckle. This is an internet forum. Anything and everything is fair game".... of course it is, everything is fair game. But I'm just surprised this guy gets as much attention as he does.

Because it illustrates how stupid some LSU fans are because there were many "Chicken Littles" on this board who were blaming Aleva, Alexander, and Orgeron for losing the "great" Austin Thomas. Now it seems that the ptoblem is Austin Thomas. The guy had it made at LSU. It is simply a case of self destruction.

Let this be a lesson to all the college kids who read this board: you can be extremely talented and skilled and still frick yourself out of being employed by being arrogant. The guy talking about Thomas ending up selling insurance is probably right, the dude went from a great position at a great program to getting his offer pulled by Ole Miss. His remaining chances are dwindling
