It's undoubtedly a hard blow to his self-esteem, but he should be able to retire quite comfortably. He's a good man who showed extreme loyalty to us at LSU when his own Alma Mater tried to woo him away. (If I were in the same position, I would have bailed on ANY other school I was coaching if LSU offered me the HC position as an alumnus.) I will always love and respect this man for his integrity despite the nay-sayers who don't even know him. He is a fine man who deserves respect for his accomplishments. Maybe coaching isn't for him anymore, as much as he would love it, and he could move to a very lucrative and high visibility position in other areas of the sports world. I'd LOVE to see him nudging Booger McFarland in the ribs every Saturday night for the foreseeable future.

Les would probably make a decent high school coach right now...no joking, I think his time as a college coach has come and gone. He was fortunate to have so many wins under his belt. One has to scratch one's head when trying to understand how he was successful for a while.. He was no strategic genius to say the least. Hope Les and his family well, but wouldn't want him in any capacity to be involved with LSU again.

The reason why LSU keep Miles so long is because when they lost Saban because of not giving him full control of program they knew the they let the best get away and Miles started winning and they did not want to make the same mistake with Miles what they did to Saban so Miles had carte Blanche to frick up the program by his bull shite offense amd coordinators So imo this is why Miles over stayed and under performed hence no new gigs

Not a single school. That's not surprising at all. Everyone knows he underperformed here at LSU as a coach considering what he had to work with. The talent speaKS for itself. We led the nation in nfl talent out of all schools. It was time for him to go after he showed no semblance of making a run at a title anytime in the future bc of how he refused to change. Hopefully he gets another chance somewhere, but he has himself to blame for how he handled the program at LSU the last several years.

First of all, I just the understand the hatred for Les Miles I know he was hard headed to a fault but when a coach had the success Miles had doing it his way most coaches don't change and we all know he should have. And he had a lot of success at LSU, Coach of the year (2011), he averaged 10 wins a season in a 11 year career with a 114-34 record with 64 SEC wins, was 2-1 in SEC Championships, 1-1 in National Championships. From 2005 -2015 LSU won more games than any other SEC school and that's just some of his accomplishments. Secondly for Miles to do something stupid in a job interview like a lot of you said he would have to be offered the job or invited to an interview he stated he was not offered one job or even contacted. It's really funny how Ex Texas A&M HC Kevin Sumlin is said to be look at for a job when Les Miles was undefeated against his teams not even Nick Saban can say that.I think Les Miles can still be a successful HC at a Power 5 school and don't be surprise if Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh is still struggling that Les won't get that call from his alma mater. I don't miss him. He should have taken the UM job in '08. Even in '11, he won in despite of himself, at least until the 2nd gump game.

I love the man, but despise the coach. I hate that he's done this to himself professionally...but then again, he's set financially anyway. He has become a cautionary tale of not knowing the difference between determination and flat-out bull-headedness.

LM should have been released after the stunt he pulled in the 2011 season championship game.

IMHO Les doomed his chances when he showed his Granite-like head by not adapting his offense. THAT is the reason ADs have shyed away. It sucks because he is a good coach and great developer of young men.
