It was announced Monday that LSU's matchup vs. Tennessee at Tiger Stadium next Saturday will kickoff at 11 am.

While morning kickoffs in Death Valley are not a fan favorite, LSU stat guru Todd Politz revealed that the Tigers have "won all 8-morning kickoffs in Tiger Stadium this century," which includes six vs. SEC teams.

I remember App State. Stadium was half empty to celebrate the 2007 Championship, and half of those people were gone before the 1st ended

Probably because Hurricane Gustav was to hit Baton Rouge that next morning and people were scrambling to prepare for what would be the worst Hurricane to hit BR in the last 30 years.

I’ve been to 2 11am kickoffs and both were the most uncomfortable I’ve been sitting in the stadium

Wow, I really hate making this KIND of history. I'd rather the KIND like O & the '19 Tigers!

We lost to Florida in 16 when Guice ran the wrong way on 4th and goal. It was a morning game.

To be fair, everyone keeps forgetting the Jackson gave UForfeit ten points from a muffed punt and coverage.

It's Jefferson Financial now... They need to move the game time to 11:27 for tradition purposes.

...this century. Thank you for discounting Ole Miss in 1997 as no one wants to remember that game.

This is the first game that came to mind since it was the next game after beating #1 Florida. It kicked off at 11:37 AM.

It’s Monday, the following Saturday is “this Saturday”, the the next in line Saturday is “next Saturday”

That’s because they are almost always against subpar opponents.

most of this fan base drinks. There are only so many bloody marys to put down before 11am and effectively be primed for a tiger game.

Probably not something to boast of, but I can still drink a lot before kickoff (not saying I don't prefer night games)

I just embrace the "Challenge Accepted" attitude for a.m. games...

I think having a morning game in Tiger Stadium lulls the opponent into a false sense of security. Tennessee is already talking about how they got “lucky” before stepping foot on the field. While morning kickoffs suck for the fans, no one will care if the Tigers come away victorious.

Still a shitty time for a kickoff. This isn’t the big 10

Crazy to me that we’ve only had 15 morning kickoffs in our history
