Update: LSU has confirmed that Mike Denbrock is taking the Notre Dame OC job.

Original:
Multiple sources are reporting that LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock is taking the Notre Dame offensive coordinator job at Notre Dame.

Denbrock received a three contract extension to remain at LSU this month but the contract still needed to be approved by the LSU Board of Supervisors and Denbrock did not sign the contract.

Denbrock spent two seasons in Baton Rouge and was a Broyles Award finalist in 2023. He returns to Notre Dame for his third time in his coaching career.

Dammit, Kelly, we wanted House gone, Denbrock could stay. Learn how to read and listen.

LSU will have no issue finding a replacement for Denbrock. I understand why his family wants to be closer to family in Michigan I believe and I’d rather have someone who wants to be here than have someone who does not have long term desire to be here. This is a Top 5- job in the country and I’m confident Brian Kelly will find the right coach to fill the position. Money was not the reason he left.

Top 5 in the country....eh, don't know about that. Certainly top 10 but Mich, Bama, Ohio St, USC, Oklahoma, Texas are all more prestigous. Kelly only left ND because of the money and easier to get recruits qualified. He pretty much admitted to as much.

Meh, I think he was a little overrated. I think his poor playing calling in short yardage cost us our 1st 2 losses.

As others have stated. I think his success was directly tied to Jayden, Malik and Brian being exceptional players.

All quality and successful coaches have good records because of quality player talent - regardless of the sport.

Hopefully he doesn’t try to take Sloan and BK just bumps him up to OC and Bryce Underwood keeps LSU on his list since Sloan was his main recruiter.

I appreciate that he came and helped right the ship. When we needed a known, credible, and trusted name, he was it. Good luck at ND till we play them

You remember when Chief left because he was tired of his defense always rescuing Cameron’s inept offense. Same here but opposite is true. BK’s fault.

Kevin Steele and Dave Aranda were both upgrades from Chavis. They're also more professional.

It doesn’t make sense, as an Offensive Coordinator, to leave The Heisman House.
