One of LSU's top quarterback targets for 2019 is back on the open market.

Grant Gunnell, a four-star pro-style passer from Houston, TX announced Tuesday night that he has decommitted from Texas A&M and has reopened his recruitment.

Here's what he had to say...

The 6-6, 212-pound prospect from St Pius X High School is rated the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the country for the class of 2019, according to 247Sports and ESPN.

Gunnell gave his verbal pledge to former Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin and decommitted from new head coach Jimbo Fisher, who might want more of a dual-threat passer in his offensive system.

we all know what happened the last time we went after a quarterback with "gunn" in his name

With the receiving targets he would have already on campus it would make a lot of sense to come to LSU

...and that is how a respectable young man let's people know his recruitment is wide open, Patrick surtain jr. This is what he should have done following his Bama visit at the very least, to let LSU know that he may not sign with them and to go after another player at his position. PSJR is an classless piece of shite and so is his father. Him not doing this publicly is what makes me know that him, his father, and saban intentionally and deliberately sabotaged LSU and it's recruiting class. frick surtain jr, his father, and saban for how classless they were in regards to LSU. If yall don't think saban and Bama are scared of LSU, then you really don't know shite. Nobody schemes something like they did against a program without fear being involved, period. LSU has always scared saban, he knows the talent that we have in state and will do whatever he can to interfere with us landing top prospects, even if it means cheating. frick nick saban, little bitch.

They may have wanted to secure more than ONE CB. Being left standing around with their dicks in their hands is all on O, and get used to it. Intelligent management is not in O's skill set.

We'll take Jimbo's scraps. C'mon over, kid.

Jimbos scraps? Dude, gunnell is one of the best pure qbs in the 2019 class. He is far from anybody's scraps. Matter of fact, he was supposed to be Texas a&m and jimbos bell cow recruit that they would build their 2019 class around. He was supposed to be their qb of the future that would springboard their program. Gunnell decomitting is a huge blow to tamu and a huge opportunity for LSU. GEAUX TIGERS!

He isn't a scrap you moron and he committed to Sumlin not Jimbo. Some of you are simply dickheads.

This is why you never get too worked up over recruiting. While I certainly don’t like the way the staff played it at the end of last cycle, losing foster may have turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Now we don’t have any viable option ahead of Gunner, so our attractiveness has increased. In addition, aggies do, so they are less attractive.

Looks like the kid just wants to get wined and dined a bit more on the recruiting trail, and the type of arse aTm was offering him wasn't his preferred type.

I don't keep up with recruits, but how is the 2nd best pro style qb in the country only 4 star?

Each kid is ranked on a scale of 1-100 regardless of position. Then depending on their grade their ranked.

If he is looking at LSU this is a smart move by this kid. He sees no QB this year and when he hits campus Myles will be a Jr. Poised to take over as a Sophomore or Jr.

Because Texas has been a power house the past couple of years.....Texas is over with. They will be a 6-7 win team(at the most) for the next 5 years.

Voodooidotwo- Not even taking a shot at their record- They have their QB already in ‘19. Also Grant is a pro-style. Herman wants dual threats

I find it weird that a random guy will go see a high school kid play that he has no relation to just because he might commit to LSU
