Four-star cornerback Cai Bates from Orlando, Fla., decommitted from LSU on Monday night.

Bates, a 6-2, 180-pound prospect from Orlando, Fla., committed initially to the Tigers in July over Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Colorado.

LSU now has 25 verbal commitments for the class of 2024 with the departure of Bates.

In October, the Tigers lost four-star cornerback Ondre Evans, who flipped to Georgia and landed three-star prospects PJ Woodland and Bernard Causey (Ole Miss flip).

Anyone who gets jazzed up about these HS "commitments" before they enroll in class is chasing fool's gold. Especially from 13%ers

Has anyone ever heard of Cory Raymond? This was a big mistake by Brian Kelly to let him go and not keep him.

Where there’s smoke there’s fire when it comes to our secondary prospects. First of all our 2nd year DB’s are not developed they’re the same as they were when they came here. Yeah they’re good for a nice play or two but most times they’re out of position and when they are not they’re missing tackles like crazy. Everybody on this site bitch at me when I say get Corey Raymond back here in the worst way but I guest y’all like this instead. Robert Steeples is an f’ing joke, right now he’s the King of the 3* prospects, not able to hold on to the 4*’s and don’t even try for a 5*. Along with House, Steeples and Kerry Cooks got to go because this is NOT the standards set by DBU.

Maybe some are weary about Corey. Maybe that same smoke you talk about applies to Coreys methods and development of student athletes. Why not go look for another coach that can coach lock down corners. Just a thought

So, how could the Honey Badger be so wrong about Matt House...if he was? You can't go wrong with him on paper, LINK

1. Tyrann played DB, House coached LBs with the Super Bowl Chiefs. No real first hand knowledge.
2. Tyrann was just being supportive of whoever LSU picked.
3. Tyrann took too many shots to the head.
4. Tyrann was scheming to get himself the job.

Smart move by this kid. He sees what anyone with a brain sees: Matt House can't scheme a defense much less develop anyone at any position. That retard should have been fired weeks ago.

Because 2 Freshman players might play better with more game time. He won't come in and start.

How can he decommit when a commitment is no longer a commitment? None of these kids are committed until the paperwork is sent in. And even that is only good for one season.

To be fair the offers aren’t really ‘offers’ either.

Kelly probably told them House is staying and their response is l
“nah I’m good”

If you can't recruit top defensive talent, you can't compete in the SEC. This ain't the BigEast. You can't scheme your way through the SEC with inferior talent.

DB coaches need to be replaced. Unable to coach up the secondary players, can't recruit. We can't afford keep them another year. Daniel's has carried the offense and bailed out the defense in our 7 wins.

Aside from a a couple a year, we really need to get away from high school players more than 2 states away. This seems to happen to 90% of "commits" from far away. Lousiana, Texas and Mississippi. There you go. I know we will probably get the Michigan kid, but that's so far and few between. If a California or Florida kid wants to transfer here, wonderful. But these hs ones are a different story.

man our DB coaches can't get high end kids to commit, then we get 4stars and lose them...time for Steeples and Cooks to be gone
