re: Can LSU translate this increase in sports success to better ACADEMICS? - TKLSUMD on 7/16/23 at 11:31 am Around 2015, I researched the costs for my kids to go to out of state schools as I live in Georgia. At the time, Alabama gave better scholarships for similar ACT/SAT scores compared to LSU. I would start by increasing LSUs awards. It will attract more of the out of state kids. ... re: Truck engine replacement - TKLSUMD on 5/13/23 at 8:13 pm The two times I paid to replace an engine, I’ve later regretted it. It just seems like everything starts to break afterwards. I will never do it again. Cut your losses. ... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Just had my annual physical and got my blood panel back - TKLSUMD on 4/29/23 at 7:13 am Based on your numbers, assuming you do not take blood pressure lowering medication and your blood pressure is normal, your 10 year heart attack risk based on predictors is around 1%. Based on this, you would not normally require a Statin. As a physician, the concerning thing is your elevated coronar... Posted on Health/Fitness Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |
re: Official Running Log/Marathon Training Thread - TKLSUMD on 4/21/23 at 11:31 am You can join one of the approved charities to get a race bib with no qualifying time required. The World Major Marathons all have this option as well. The major difference being this is the only way I know of to get in Boston if you are not fast enough to time qualify (for me as a 51 yo male it r... re: Official Running Log/Marathon Training Thread - TKLSUMD on 4/18/23 at 7:01 am I ran Boston yesterday setting a PR at 3:54. My quads are more sore than normal which I presume is due to the first few miles being downhill. I was amazed at how the city really gets behind the race. Next up for me is the Berlin Marathon in September in my quest for the Abbott world majors.

re: Official Running Log/Marathon Training Thread - TKLSUMD on 4/6/23 at 4:58 pm
they require covid vaccination
Boston Marathon does not require COVID vaccination proof this year. The only thing I saw was that you have to wear masks on the bus while be transported to the starting area.

re: Turkey hunting is frustrating - TKLSUMD on 4/5/23 at 3:09 pm I called in a nice gobbler two days ago. I got out in the woods before light. No gobbles whatsoever. I sat down in a wooded area where I know they have fed in the past. Fresh turkey scratching’s. The leaves were dry so I could hear everything. No decoys. Only heard minimal hen clucks. I’ve learned o... Posted on Outdoor Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1) |

I’ve run it for the last several years. I run with my son. As he never trains like he should, we always have to walk over half of it. The only plus to that is that free beer is everywhere. If I’m going to walk, might as well have a drink. The best par... Posted on Health/Fitness Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0) |
re: Official Running Log/Marathon Training Thread - TKLSUMD on 4/5/23 at 12:47 pm
What are yall training for right now?
Bucket list race for me. I’m running in the Boston Marathon on 4/17/23 as a charity runner for the Red Cross. I’m not fast enough to time quality (sub 3:25) so this was my only other option. My PR is 4:09 which was back in 2006 Marine Corps ... Posted on Health/Fitness Board Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2) |
re: Buying a cheap jetski. - TKLSUMD on 3/19/23 at 4:56 pm I bought 2 used ones years ago for around 2k. Damn things broke so much I finally donated them to a charity. They were 2 stroke engines though. I bought a new Kawasaki 4 stroke in 2012. It still runs great. I’ll never buy another used one. ...
