Class of 2021 four-star weakside defensive end Landyn Watson announced Tuesday night that he has decommitted from LSU and is reopening his recruitment.

Watson said that he made his decision to commit too early in his recruitment but that the Tigers remain a "top priority."

The 6-3, 240-pound prospect from Hutto, Texas, committed to LSU back in July of 2019.

Long way to go for 2021. If he comes back, great. If not, there will be others to take.

We are 11-0 during Aggie week and this is the main headline?

Have fun traveling, kid. Do it up and come back home, assuming a stud hasn't taken your scholly.

He is buddies with one of the kids we just cut loose. You guys are going to have to stop criticizing kids for decommitting, since we're kinda doing that to kids ourselves this cycle.

Commitments are meaningless!

It sucks, but this opens up more room for better recruits that want to be at LSU

You can see why marriages are failing to such a high degree these days...no one knows what commitment means any more.

Pianoman•83 months

Wow...so sick of hearing about young athletes who know so little about what the word "commitment" actually means. They shouldn't be able to even say they're committing until it gets within 6 months or so.

Pretty sure the kid realizes that two other top 300 guys at the same spot just decommited a class ahead of him. Because the staff is not only going to land some top 20 overall players there this cycle but will next year too. Its like you guys haven't been watching the DBs we have to let walk away each year because we have the most talented players at the spot each year. Gonna be like that at end for years to come.

rob62•83 months

That is 3 WDE that have decommitted. Hmmm?

I been saying this every year! Guys that commit early realize that they miss out on the recruiting process. The invites to major programs, the free tickets to major games, the wineing and dining. Once you commit to a program, other programs won't give you those things because they don't feel they can get you. Let him enjoy the process, he's earned it. Then when decision times comes, he go to the school that he wanted to go to all along. In this case, LSU. R-E-L-A-X!
