Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports
LSU men's basketball coach Matt McMahon landed a big transfer commitment on Thursday from Kentucky forward Daimion Collins.

The 6-9, 210-pound sophomore forward from Atlanta, Texas, spent the past two seasons at Kentucky but did not see much playing time. He averaged just 1.9 points and 1.9 rebounds in 25 games coming off the bench.

Collins is a former five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American.

Collins is the fifth transfer to join the program this offseason joining Carlos Stewart (Santa Clara), Will Baker (Nevada), Jordan Wright (Vanderbilt), and Jalen Cook (Tulane).

People bitching about him signing a former 5 star Mcdonalds All American. The stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

LSU basketball now building with top guys that didnt pan out and have decided to transfer. In the meantime Women's team getting transfers that are top notch wanting to win championships.

You k ow the dude isn’t good when someone still has to refer to his high school ranking. See it all the time in college. They ain’t a 5 star anymore I know that

you’re getting downvoted but you’re not wrong. Recruiting rankings become irrelevant the second you step on campus.

Have you watched a single second of his college film or just read an obscure stat?

Shoot me over that 7.9 minute per game, probably in garbage time, and I’ll take a look at it

The team is going to be irrelevant in the sporting world indefinitely regardless of who is brought in.

the guy signs a former 5 star and your first response is to say how irrelevant they will be. i truly pity how sad your day must be right now.
