Savannah is market 89 out of 210 in the US, with 300K households. This is probably the best thing to happen to her career. No one outside of Savannah knew who this reporter was before this. I'm kinda shocked he only got banned for life, I would think the Twitter mob wouldn't be happy until they wrecked it professional and personal life, and potentially hung him up by his neck until he was dead. That's the current world we live in. Was it a bad thing and dumb to do? Yes. Does he need to be ruined for it? Probably not.
