So this will be the new trend, eh? College sports programs will have NIL Centers, eh? Earlier this week, Alabama showed off the plans for their "The Advantage Center" dedicated to NIL stuff and it begs the question: will the staff here dress like the crew of Star Trek?...
quote:

As part of a new 15-year agreement with Alabama that it announced Tuesday, Learfield, in conjunction with the university, is creating a dedicated hub for name, image and likeness (NIL) called The Advantage Center, an epicenter for Crimson Tide athletes’ NIL endeavors that the company believes is a first nationally. The Advantage Center, with a goal of opening this calendar year, will be located inside Bryant Denny Stadium and will double as the agency’s local office, says Learfield CEO Cole Gahagan.

Learfield and Alabama plan to collaborate on the development of the center to provide both a physical home and a staff to educate athletes on NIL opportunities and showcase successful local and national NIL-related relationships.

In renderings provided to Sports Illustrated, the Advantage Center is expected to include a host of NIL-related features: a digital ticker announcing the latest news in athlete deals; a studio with a green screen to provide athletes a place to shoot NIL-related videos; a wall dedicated to Alabama player NIL deals and opportunities; and meeting space to possibly help facilitate brand-and-athlete relationships.

l get paid over $ 150-200 per hour working from home. l never thought I'd be able to do it but my buddy makes over $ 30,561 a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The possibility with this is endless.

This clearly places Learfield as a client of the university and not the direct client of the NIL sponsors. With a 15 year deal involved, someone is going to pocket a lot of cash and it won't be the athletes.

Why build this thing at all? You could just put that money right in the athletes pockets...

It's marketing. Every school has garish shite at their school as promotion of the program and that money used to build it could be just given straight (more or less) to the athletes.

I hate everything about NIL. It's turned college sports into minor leagues. Innocence is gone.

"The last time Nick Saban asked “if that’s what we want college football to be,” it was a warning, not a complaint."

Learfield is going to have to provide transparency since the client is the college by virtue of using publicly paid for space on campus. Kind of like using an executive search firm to fill vacancies. This will put Alabama in a very similar situation that just backfired on Florida.

What happened at FL?

There definitely needs to be a lot more transparency in these deals, when it comes to public school players. They need to be school employees or ICs, that use their nil money for their school and board, etc.

Good. Let them be the first, so we can see how to do it better.

15 years is a long time to be stuck with something that is new and untested.

“it begs the question”. No it doesn’t. Begging the question doesn’t mean that it’s a question that really needs to be asked. Rube.

Should make plans for a display area where they can showcase all the Dodge Chargers in that center.

What is going to take place there that they don't already have?

Yeah the kids getting money is wrong. But it’s ok for conferences to literally make billion dollar tv deals and schools make over 150 million a year in football alone. God forbid the kids make any. These aren’t just random college kids who happen to play football while at college. The star players are essentially high ranking board members of a Fortune 500 company. Do you honestly think they would pay these kids if they weren’t worth the money?

Got to do something to stay ahead of places like Miami or Los Angeles that sell on NIL by location alone.
