This and additionally, I can see the staff wanting to get a really good look at them good on good in a live bullet scenario to continue their assessment. I wouldnt be surprised to see them start, and I wouldnt be surprised to see them rotate in heavily. Anderson seems third on the pecking order as far as the freshmen go...but that dude is an absolute problem after watching him in HS. Yes it was high school, but simply no blocking scheme or doubles or even triples could neutralize him.

It isnt a situation where the freshmen are beating out walk ons and guys who have never played or played poorly in the past.

They are beating out previous year SEC starters in Blocton and McKinley. Green was a starter at Clemson in the ACC too.

Not sure why anyone would be worried about that. They arent just rising to the top by default, they are beating out 3 dudes who have a combined nearly 2000 snaps playing for SEC/ACC teams and all 3 of them have graded out at least above average to pretty good.

This is definitely a situation to be excited about, not worried about there. I'm pretty sure all 3 of Blocton/Green/McKinley havent suddenly forgot how to play this offseason. There's freshmen basically every year who standout to some degree

It's a heavy rotating position and when you have Green, Blocton and McKinley behind them, there's no reason they should ever be tiring out from playing too much.

DT's shouldnt really be playing more than 30-40ish snaps a game, especially when we're pretty comfortably 5 deep there (assuming Lamar is at DE)

It's a position you constantly want fresh bodies at because those big guys do work.

UGA's Jalen Carter who was a Top 10 pick never played more than 396 snaps in a season for them over 3 years...and UGA probably averaged close to 14 games a season while he was there. He played 52 snaps once in a playoff game, but never played more than 48 snaps in a single game beyond that.

This is probably excellent news considering the talent that we have on offense and Kiffins track record of producing a top offenses consistently. It means we could have a top 3 defense to go along with a top 3 offense.

We have not typically been a rotating team the last few years unfortunately due to lack of depth. So hopefully this season we actually feel confident in enough players to where we can have a large rotation to keep the players fresh.
