What are you favorite tailgate foods for hot weather?

I normally cook gumbo or pastalaya (which wouldn't be too bad) for the main course, but I drew the Clemson game to cook for my group this year, and it'll likely be a scorcher. Are there any tailgate foods you serve that are particularly acclimated to the early season games?

I'd just add a chilled fruit tray for the clemson game. Everything we usually cook involves cooking the food aka it comes out hot so we also talked about cold items we could add.
Haven't done this since my college days, but I'd love a nice ice luge to pour some liquor down for this first game. Cant fricking wait.

I haven't done it but maybe a vat of chilled pasta salad? Precut watermelon? It's tough to have food cooked out there and not be warm... Hopefully someone else has a better idea.

Pasta salad fruit tray taco dip and chips and sandwiches (chicken salad cold cuts muffalettas) id keep it finger foods that you can nibble on through out the day instead of a meal as no one will want to sit down and eat a lot at a time but will want to eat through out day and soak up alcohol.

Are you asking for something to cook that you won't sweat while cooking it or something that your eaters won't mind eating on a hot day?
If you don't mind sweating, jambalaya is good at any time of year
If you do mind sweating, then you might be SOL other than a sandwich tray

Not this. Anyone out there is going to sweat. Cooking or not.

I went to a tailgate one year for the opening game and they had chilled spaghetti a salad and some French bread with butter along with some finger sandwiches and dips…. It was actually really good filling and no one had to cook out in the heat….. they cooked it the day before and headed chilled in a nice chest….. I like Cole spaghetti so to me it was good

Fried Chicken wings. They're good at room temperature and you don't have to cook them!

Chilled shrimp pasta salad. Packet into gallon size Ziploc bags. Pull it out 1 gallon at a time. Put it into the small aluminum trays that fit sideways into the big aluminum tray and load the big one with ice so it’s sitting on top of ice.

Wouldn't 4th of July fare seem appropriate? Burgers, ribs, etc? Pastalaya seems like a decent choice, too.
