This is where I’m at. I’m a beginner interested in marsh, lake, calm bay fishing, and recreation. 115 Yamaha. I’m looking for white.

You only live once, get the boat.

So no reservations on this specific vessel?

I had an 18SC white. That boat tore up fish in Toledo to Grand Isle. Had a 90. Boat was rock solid, pulled tubes with the kids just a good all around boat for me sold it for more than I paid for it in Covid and could kick myself. If you’re an inshore / freshwater guy it’s all you really need here outside of island hopping in summer.
I’ll also add my dad has a 20 bay and my brother had a 22. All great boats that have lasted and been low maintenance. Nothing fancy but dependable.

Great beginner and do it all boat for South Louisiana. However, if you find yourself starting to fish more big bays, lakes, and open water you are quickly gonna want a glass boat as the aluminum will beat you to death and get you wet on less than ideal weather days.

And this is fine. I’ve not pulled a boat or launched in many years.

My best Hull Truth advice:
You could be satisfied with it but will ultimately regret not getting the Freeman 42LR with quad 400 V10 mercuries.

In all seriousness, you won’t regret it and can always sell it. Pull the trigger, my friend.

This is how I think. Resell and then back out usage and enjoyment.

Good beginner boat too. Beauty of aluminum is that it takes the abuse of beginner captains better.
Everyone has to learn some tough, and often times, embarrassing lessons with boat ownership.
The metal boat is more forgiving to these mistakes. Glass boats look better, ride better, but also have less margin for error in cosmetic damage caused by docks, stumps, trailers, etc.

I had a 2000 x56 which was an 18ft with a 115 Yamaha. It did great in the marsh and small lakes.

Built way better than lowe, tracker, etc.

Shouldn’t get an express because the boats are made out of guage material aka Dr Pepper can thickness. I have repaired at least a dozen of busted xpress boats from rough water usage in south Louisiana. Spend the extra money and get a custom made aluminum center console that will
Last you for life. 3/16 bottom and you are good to go. A quick face book search will pull up many excellent custom boat builders several in Henderson Louisiana. You pay for what you get. A cheap boat ain’t good and a good boat ain’t cheap

Great beginner boat to learn the ropes. I bought an 18CC right out of college. Beat the shite out of that boat and put a ton of fish in the bottom of it.
Go get it, you won’t regret it.

If you are fishing anywhere with any wind or waves at all you will be beat to death with any aluminum boat. Just telling you.
