Pollard is one of the best, and longest tenured ADs in the country. He knows what college STUDENT athletics was meant to be. Money has absolutely destroyed the fabric of college athletics. Yes, it benefits LSU to a degree, but when players are chasing the bag every year, it sucks for the fans.

This has been a very sad development for me - I LOVE amateur athletics of all kind, but to me baseball just has to be fully amateur until the pro level.

I cannot fall in love with a gaggle of merchants - I want to see young athletes playing for the love o the game and the university they attend. Since this NIL crap came up, I have lost my intensity for the game - if they start playing like crap, I just turn them off.
Back when they were all student-athletes, I'd stay with them til the very end, good or bad.

He ain't wrong. The SEC and B1G have never heard the phrase, "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered".

the NCAA is the only thing stopping the Big 10 and SEC, and their FOX, ESPN media money from ruining college football

It’s already basically ruined.

Uh it's primarily the B1G with the SEC being a weak resistance due to it being ran by a B1G shill

Hahaha. Check out Iowa State’s basketball roster, which under his watch, signed a pro euro player. Is it within the rules? Sure. Is it “amateur athletics”? Heck no.

It must be fun being a hypocrite.

How does he think that will change Iowa St situation. Coaches will still leave for better

Take the current 67 Big 4 conference teams and Notre Dame, and make a league. Your 3 OOC opponents are outside of the 64 teams, but no playing FCS or HBCUs. Have that same 12 team play off with first 2 rounds on home team's campus.

I agree tell the sec and big 10 to eat my shorts 20 woukd be cool with me

Iowa State shouldn't even be in a power conference, so perhaps they should just join G5

Guy is a moron. No one is dying to watch Iowa St. vs SMU pal. The only reason anyone would is hoping their team can make it to the playoff to play an SEC or Big 10 team. Take that away why would any one watch.
