So prefacing 2024 was an exceptionally OTT travel year for the missus and I, and I live in Amsterdam so the frequent intra-European travels are relatively affordable/feasible:

January - nothing
February - flew back to the US (VA & NC) to visit family
March - part solo and part Company ski trip, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany & Serfaus, Austria
April - Japan (Honshu, Shikoku & Kyushu)
May - Madrid, Spain
May - Naxos, Milos and Santorini, Greece
June - Berlin, Germany
July - Basque Country (Bilbao & San Sebastián), Spain
August - Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
September - Andalucía (Sevilla, Cádiz y Jerez de la Frontera), Spain
October - València, Spain
November - Istanbul, Türkiye
December - maybe to a Christmas market in Germany? TBD
December - off to Central Florida to spend Xmas with the inlaws (wooh)

I’d love for 2025 to be comparable but I think we might have to pump the brakes a bit tbh.

Edit: missus beats me because she traveled a bit for work and went on all of the above trips except for the US in February and ski-trip while also going to Petra in Jordan with her mom and sister.

Bit of a different travel year for me, but it will be one of the favorites of my life.

January: Fly to Colorado for snowboarding weekend
February: Fly to Utah for snowboarding/work party/house hunting
April: Fly to Utah to look at a house we put an offer on
May: Drive uHaul with some of our stuff to Utah. Great road trip with my dad. Spent 3 days ripping out various types of floors and other demo projects. Then flew back home to BR
June: Pack up the rest of our stuff and move to Utah. 3 day road trip with 4 dogs, 2 kids, 2 in-laws, and 1 wife.
Early July: Fly to BR for a funeral
Late July: Drive to Grand Tetons. Only 4 hours from my new house!
November: Fly back to BR for a wedding
December: Flying to BR next week for my wife's work party.

Next year will be a lot of awesome road trips around the west. Maybe a couple flights before my youngest starts needing a ticket. Only downside to the move is a lot of my vacation budget will be spent going to Louisiana.

I was in Thailand for work from Jan to August, which was a basically a vacation working in Phuket, Koh Samui and Bangkok. Traveled separately for fun to Saigon many times, Hoi An, Danang, Hong Kong and Phnom Penh.

Domestically: Vegas, Idlewild, Scottsdale and now on a 5 week holiday roadie to visit friends and family.

Not at all -- that's awesome.

I am too busy with work to travel as much as I used to, but I did go to the Galapagos in April, El Salvador in July, and I am going to Ethiopia in two weeks.

Next year, I am taking my niece to Egypt in April, and I am trying to plan a June trip with my nephew -- we might go to South Africa. That would make three African trips back to back.

Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Panama, Mexico (CDMX and Cancun), Toronto (family), Miami, Milwaukee, Madison, Los Angeles (personal and work), Orange County (multiple cities for work), San Diego (work), Bay Area (pretty much everywhere for work), Austin, Minneapolis, Nashville, Burlington, New York (family), Boston (family), and DMV (family)

No idea if Milwaukee or Madison count, since they're such a short drive / train from Chicago, but I'll also be heading to MKE for the weekend tomorrow (still maintain it's the best bar city in the country). Other than that, only other 2024 travel is New York City to see family for Christmas.
