Not the nicest hotel (that would be the St. Regis in NY) but we're currently staying at the W Sydney and just got upgraded to a 1808sqft, 3 king bedroom Mega Suite overlooking Darling Harbour. It goes for $4600/ night but we got one night for free (Titanium Elite) and the second on 40K points. Nice view.

Never really stayed anywhere too crazy. Nicest was probably Sheraton in Changzhou, China for work. I just looked and it's ~$80/night.
I tend to go about as cheap as possible when it comes to hotels and focus more on the location.
I splurged a little bit (relatively speaking) for a Four Seasons in Cairo and a Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur just because they are such well known luxury brands and those cities are so cheap. They weren’t $80/night cheap, but a lot cheaper than they would cost anywhere in the USA.

The Four Seasons Lanai Stayed at the ritz kapalua and the four seasons made it seem like a holiday inn. Crazy resort. Highly recommend
It may not be the nicest but my favorite place to stay is Royal Palms in Scottsdale. I can’t think of a better grounds to enjoy a trip. Rooms are a touch different but everything else is awesome.

Years ago, The Venetian on the LV Strip and the W in Chicago.

Broadmoor, Co Springs, most comfortable bed.
Rosewood London, great location, great chain
Cloister, Sea Island, most relaxing.
One I'm looking forward too...
Four Season Vegas Labor Day weekend.
There may be better hotels in those areas but I am a 1br suite guy. We like separate rooms and wife likes large bathrooms and amenities, so usually book based on that.

I have a couple, but I think the nicest would be Casa San Agustin in Cartagena. Runners up would be The Balmoral in Edinburgh and The Cloister in Sea Island.

Hyatt Regency Resort, Buenos Aries, Argentina, Presidential Suite

The Venetian on the LV Strip
I didn’t mention it because I figured that Las Vegas hotels were in a separate category. Can you imagine the Venetian in Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast or enen in a downtown European city?

TBH I've yet to have a truly blown away experience at a hotel. We go to the Cloister a fair amount and that's probably a good benchmark for history/service, but I think in the modern era unless you're in certain regions of the world (where it's easier to find old world minded employees) or staying at a certain status at a very elite hotel, it's difficult to replicate the guest/customer experiences of prior decades like my parents/grandparents would talk about. Or maybe we're all just spoiled, not sure.
I'm not sure where it would land on a list of hotels we've stayed at, but the most memorable hotel we've ever stayed at is probably La Ferme Saint Siméon in Honfleur.

I don't normally stay in nice places. So likely the Fountainbleu in Miami.

The nicest is probably The Beekman Hotel in NYC.
But, the coolest was Torre Di Bellosguardo in the hills south of Florence, overlooking the city.

Mandarin Hong Kong
Raffles in Singapore
Hotel Central in Innsbruck, not fancy but we had a great corner suite in the middle of Old Town on carnival day.

This has to be qualified, but two stand out in my mind.
1) Prince de Galles, Paris. Traditional, classic Parisian, and it oozes out of the pores of the place. During high season, it was $insert baller money here$ in cash per night. They absolutely cater to you, even if you haven't visited in years, but they had notes from when I visited in 2013? in the system when I drug my ex wife and both kids there five years later. I don't like sweets, but their Creme Brulee made me willing to stab people. They had notes on me years later, gave us a bomb arse suite (for points!) damn.
2) Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi. In the middle of nowhere, (for AD) but a short cab ride from anywhere. Under $200 a night, and one of the few places where when I set the thermostat to 55F, I wake up with sweating walls and potential frostbite. Hell yeah. Lots of arabs with prostitutes when I checked in in the lobby at 0400.
