Basically, what places do you seem to end up going to for multiple vacations throughout your life. It doesn’t necessarily have to be close to you. As for me:

Destin Fl: sometimes I just want to sit on the beach for a few days and there are always cheap flights from Knoxville.

Orlando: Im not sure why, but I have been there a ton. Everybody always seems to have a good time and there is plenty to do.

Las Vegas: My wife and I love Vegas. It is easy to talk us into going there because there is so much to do. I have been about eight times and it is gonna be the first trip we go to once the baby is old enough to leave with my parents for a few days.

Pigeon Forge: The reason Pigeon Forge is on the list is because it is roughly thirty minutes away from where we live. It is a great convenient place for a day trip or weekend getaway.

Maine - could go every summer
San Diego
Orlando - Disney geek, sorry
Colorado

Destin and Las Vegas - I can only tolerate for limited time, perfect weekend getaways though

We go every year. It’s getting too populated though. I miss the sleepy little fishing village.

For a quick weekend trip? Portland, Maine and a few different places in VT are our go-tos. Very easy drive.

For a longer trip, we don’t have an “old reliable”. We make an effort to explore new places. Did Iceland in January, going to London in July, and hitting up Italy in September/October. All new spots (with the exception of Rome which I did for a few days about a decade ago.

There’s nothing wrong with having a place you like to frequent, we just feel there are too many places in the world to see and only so many vacation days in a year to pigeonhole ourselves.

Gulf coast - St George Island is my favorite, but we usually end up in Ft Morgan since a family member has a house there.

NC Mountains - Usually end up in the Highlands area, but love the whole area.

Various parts of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio since I have a lot of family in all 3. Usually try to include a weekend in Chicago, Cleveland, or somewhere cool with these trips. Most of the family live in rural, small towns that are pretty boring and white bread.

Regulars are mainly weekend escapes. Towns within 100 miles than can be reached by ferry. Sitka and Haines are my favorites

I cruise once a year. I love it. I've gone out of multiple ports and been to over a dozen of the Caribbean islands. Been to amazing beaches, Mayan ruins, off-roading, gotten day passes into 5-star resorts, ziplined through the jungle. Sea days are so relaxing: no where to be, quiet, just out in the middle of the ocean watching the world go by.

Amsterdam: I've been there 8 times in the last 15 years. One practical thing is we can fly back home direct to Dallas from there so it makes it a good last city for our trips.

Closer to home, Austin is an easy trip and I have family there.

Mountains - Asheville, NC
Beach - Charleston, SC

Yes, there are better mountain and beach cities, but these are both only a few hours away from me, hence they are the "old reliable" spots.

But they are still both great cities to spend a long weekend in.

Whether it's in a tent or an Air BnB in Bend I'm there multiple times a year.

New Orleans is our most frequent weekend getaway spot, food is top notch. It's a short, inexpensive flight and hard to have a bad time there.

Charleston. It's a good mixture of beach/city living.

San Antonio for family reasons.

Same for us. I don't think my wife and I have gone to the same vacation spot more than once.

I guess my "old reliable" place is NYC. I've gone visit a friend who lives there these last 3 years. That's just an extended weekend trip with the guys, not really a "vacation" per se.

Nantucket was fun going to do it again this year.

I have done Puerto Vallarta a few times, and always enjoyed.

Also done Aruba a few times.

I really loved Key West and Marathon. Most relax I have ever been, but first more than week vacation.
