What are some Texan towns not named Fredericksburg for a couples weekend?

Waco is underrated for a low key couples weekend.

Wimberley, TX

We have a friend who owns a small cabin on Flite Acres Rd, and they let us stay there. They don’t rent it out, otherwise I’d give you the listing.

There are multiple homes along that road which are amazing for a couples, and they are right in your town, you’ll have shopping and restaurants and bars. Not too big.

Wimberley.org is a great site to check out

Check out Granbury. Once named most romantic small town in Texas.

Vidor,

Thanks for the info. Depending on the weather we might just go do the Las Colinas in Dallas or the Woodlands resort north of Houston.

Gruene
Canyon Lake
Wimberly

Stay at an Airbnb on Canyon Lake, go to Gruene for the Gristmill and Gruene Hall (Green). Go to the shopping and wine tasting at Wimberly. Or stay in Wimberly at an Airbnb and go to Gruene for a day.

I live in Boerne, roughly 30-45 minute drive from Fredericksburg, Bandera, Kerrville, New Braunfels.
Very centrally located. Highly recommend.

I’ll echo the Wimberly recommendations. Fun town for a weekend getaway, especially in the summer.

We stay at the Wimberly Inn (centrally located and has a cool little bar) and make it a focus to go hang out at the Blue Hole — headwaters of a spring fed creek that flows through the town. Afterwards, walk over to Community Pizza and Beer Garden

You also have Jacobs Well nearby, although it closed indefinitely to bacteria caused by the drought

The list should start and end here - I will warn you it is possible your significant other will urge you to find land to purchase after spending time out there.
