Wimberly = smallest town with the biggest traffic Jams.

Gage Hotel in Marathon, Indian Lodge and Sproul Ranch in Fort Davis. There used to be a bar in the middle of Alpine that had an outdoor section. Stopped there in April one time and looking at the mountains in 3 directions above the buildings was pretty

As someone who grew up spending a lot of time in Marathon...there ain't shite to do there other than driving to the the Park.

Harry's Tenaja, great bar. Last I heard it was up for sale. I love it down there but its too long a drive to be a weekend trip.

New Braunfels. Lots to do/eat there and close to lots more.

I agree, Wimberley is as packed with tourists as Fredericksburg but if you haven't been to Wimberley, you will like it.
