This is so stupid that they aren’t going by current numbers and not taking into account the number recovered along with the number dead are no longer active cases

What the deal with Alabama beaches? We have a large house rented in mid June for 23 people. Just wondering what to expect. Went back a few pages and just see bitching about Florida.

Basically business as usual. Couldn't fit another boat on the island on Saturday.

Some good news coming out today. Bans lifted in multiple pan handle counties. New Yorkers are still SOL but looks like all southern states are fine.

Southern states are not fine. FL 20-86 still bans Louisiana residents.

If DeSantis extends the ban into June and July, he will cost his state a shite ton of tourism dollars.

Is there a link where LA is still banned in the northern part of the state? I can’t find anywhere where pensacola or destin is still banning rentals to LA residents.

All stories from today have it. It’s not in the headlines. It’s usually kind of buried in the article

Not exactly fine in Alabama. It’s the most crowded I’ve ever seen down here which I have no problem with because we are making money. We are still regulated to 50% occupancy and social distancing. So don’t expect to go out to dinner between 5-8 and not wait 2-3 hours for a table. I’ve streamlined my Togo ordering system so you can get hot food in 20 mins while someone else waits there for 2 hours just
to sit at a table.

Edited to add my trash hasn’t been picked up in a week and the Condo cleaners are way behind schedule and overwhelmed as are the grocery stores. Bring your own groceries and cleaning supplies.

notiger1997 I downvoted myself too. If you don’t believe what I said that’s up to you. I live on the beach. I know what’s going on down here. It’s great for business but it’s bursting at the seams with minimal workforce. We had a rolling blackout on Friday night due to over occupancy. Waste Pro told me today every dumpster was full of trash from Orange Beach to Ft Morgan and they would get to it when they can.

Last weekend was the most crowded I’ve ever seen Orange Beach in May. The crowds are insane and I don’t see it easing up until August. It looked like 4th of July weekend.

I believe all stories about everything being overwhelmed.

Booked a rental for July 17-21 but guess that’s due to being 2 months out...

Craziest part is people are here from every State and every State has different laws, rules and regulations. People are so freaking confused. Most are acting like vacation is a fairy land and no rules exist. The people next to them have gloves and mask. It’s so bizarre.

I don’t doubt anything you’ve posted and I’m sorry for what y’all are dealing with.

When I booked my trip for next week a month ago I thought I would be helping a struggling economy. I’m happy that this isn’t the case.

I have a daughter who just graduated high school so I just want her to have a little trip and we can all get a little different atmosphere. I might make one trip to the grocery and might pick up some food from a restaurant or stop in the Flora Bama. The rest of the time is going to be all about the beach, the pool, and fishing:

I do purchasing for 4 companies. It’s been a nightmare with things in short supply or getting scooped up as soon as it’s released. I’m talking all the way up the food chain. My suppliers supply Rouses. Best advice for anyone is to pack everything you need and enjoy the beach. Especially paper and cleaning supplies. Buy booze in Louisiana as it’s much cheaper. If you need necessities shop local stores. If you want to eat out, call and ask what’s the best time. Earlier in the afternoon the better.

Just went through Florida checkpoint on I-10.

Filled out a simple form because I’m coming from LA. Lady took the completed form and said we don’t have to quarantine and they hoped we enjoy our stay in Florida.

If people are taking long detours to avoid this they are crazy.

Would it help if you got tested and the test came back negative and show the negative test to anyone that questions you?
