Within 5 hours of NOLA, where do y’all recommend for nice pools for kids? Hoping for slides / maybe splash pad/ lazy river to keep ‘em entertained. Budget isn’t a big deal, looking for somewhere nice and not trashy like Hollywood BSL. TIA

Unfortunately for very close travel it’s crap like this or Margeritaville.
In Orange Beach\Gulfshores there are a few of the Phoenix Properties that have lazy rivers.
Portofino Resort in Pensacola Beach is great for kids.
Destin West Resort in Fort Walton is pretty good.
The Marriott Grand in Point Clear has. some of the water features you referenced and is nice.

That was my first thought.

The Woodlands Resort in The Woodlands, Texas. Great spot with two pools and a lazy river, slides, splash pad for littles. Lots of sun and shade.

From some PR things on TV recently, just because the Pool looks great, doesn't mean it's open. Apparently there's a major shortage of life guards this season and many swimming pools haven't been opened yet.
Which means the water quality is the best it's ever been.

The Caribe in Gulf Shores

We haven't been yet, but we have a stay at Margaritaville near Houston at Lake Conroe, it seems pretty similar to the one in Biloxi, however it's an all suites location which we really like the idea of with 2 small kids so there is some separation. Just another idea.

Another good suggestion. Just be aware that getting to and from the beach is a pain in the arse if that was something OP is interested in.

More like 7-8 hours but a cool area to explore as well.

When would you be going ? The OBA area sucks in the summer because of crowds but can be nice during the spring and when kids go back to school

Just got back from Oasis in Gulfport and for the proximity to NOLA and cost you can’t beat their pool, lazy river, and splash pads. Had a 7, 5 , and 1 year old and we had a great little get away

Oasis’s was good? How was the shade? We’re umbrellas/ cabana’s available?
We’ve considered doing a long weekend in July with our 3.50 year old but some reviews said shade was lacking etc.
other than that reviews looked good just curious on your take
Thanks

theres no cabanas and umbrellas are a mad dash to grab at about 8:30am . some families brought in their own beach umbrellas and mounts.
we had a group with twin 3 year olds and they had a blast. absolutely perfect place for them

quote:can you extend your range a bit more? if so both the adults and kids will have a great time staying at opryland hotel with soundwaves.
Within 5 hours of NOLA,
its the furthest thing from trashy but you'll pay a bit for it.

Sounds like a great wolf lodge trip but there aren’t too many in the south

The old La Toretta. Haven’t been there in years but the pool and lazy river was nice as well as the golf course. Not sure I would drive from NO though. Easy trip from Houston for a weekend. There used to be an Italian place on 105 that was excellent. Mom and pop style place. I hope they made it through Covid. Food was great.

Echo Nashville and Opryland. Ain't cheap, but it's self contained and really neat.
AND... Nashville Shores isn't too far away!
