re: Thoughts on floating LVP in kitchen?
Posted by PistolPete45 on 8/18/26 at 12:51 pm to StringedInstruments
the two biggest things with LVP are
1) quality product that is thick AND has a thick wear layer, i.e. I went with cali bamboo for my last install, it has a 22mill wear layer.
2) an install that pays attention to detail. it is very easy to install and have the click/lock system be 90% in but that really comes into play a few years in when there is a lot of movement and expansion/contraction. all of those joints where it is not fully in, will start to separate and come apart.
The cali bamboo I installed myself looked perfect and just like I installed it over 3 years later.
The new build we bought with an unknown LVP is showing tons of separations 3 years in, and the top layer is peeling off in a few small areas and I'm sure because the install was shitty and I assume the wear layer is not thick.
I am not saying you have to go with that brand, but make sure you have a great installer and do your research on the brand

I have noticed the quality dramatically slip over the past few years. I don't think I am going back to the one in Daphne, AL anytime soon.
re: Would you replace HVAC units?
Posted by PistolPete45 on 7/29/26 at 12:10 pm to Will Cover
Unless you are literally getting the same feedback from every buyer, NEVER spend money on your house to please a buyer who has moved on.
The next person to make an offer may be perfectly comfortable with the AC and the roof but maybe they are super concerned with the plumbing or windows and want that taken care of. If you spent money on a new roof and AC units, now you have to spend money on plumbing or replacing a few windows.
Also, I would offer to take a concession before offering to replace, that way if for some reason the sale falls through at the last minute you aren't out any money.

That being said I did like the performances of the younger actors. Worth a watch but will likely not revisit.
I agree I thought the 2 main guys were phenomenal in their roles, I felt it was worth a watch, the ending wasn't my favorite and apparently didn't line up with the plot of the book.
I've certainly seen much worse.

speaking of I was enjoying your shop updates, do you have any recent progress updates? I can't seem to find the thread
re: FYI if you are looking for an LSU flag, check ebay out
Posted by PistolPete45 on 7/13/26 at 12:00 pm to MintBerry Crunch
my man, I am not selling any flags, but if I wanted to pimp my own store, wouldn't you think I would link my own store directly, rather than a generic search on ebay sorted by lowest price?
I do have an ebay store, but don't care enough to try to advertise it on this site for a couple of sales.
Just trying to help my fellow tiger out

my 2025 NC baseball flag was shredded recently after flying outside for months. I went to go order a replacement to see most places are charging $30-50 per flag.
On ebay I just bought 5 assorted lsu flags for $56 total
Here is a link to the ebay search sorted from lowest price:
Ebay LSU Flags
can find a ton from $11-$20

Wonder what legal clause they fired him under
any reason they wanted, you don't need a reason to fire someone.
quote:
In an at-will state, an employer can legally fire an employee at any time, without warning, and for any or no reason
The only way a company would get in trouble is if it could be proven they were fired for a non-legal reason such as someone on military leave, for having a disability, age discrimination, etc.

Unsure why you guys are hating on him, did he do something I missed?
I mean there is no need to shite on a player who left the program to try to find an opportunity for playing time.
He's not Brady Neal.

I have a small solar system using four 365w panels and an EcoFlow Delta Pro power station. On sunny days I power most of my house (no 240v) using this. I also have an emergency power backup with this system if the grid goes down. Most standard solar systems don't have power if the grid goes down. All of this was about $3,000. I put the solar panels on my 10' x 12' shed. I could have made it larger if I wanted to. Ecoflow has systems that would power everything if you have the space for the solar panels. I chose my shed instead of my house due to having to get a permit if I put the solar panels on the roof of my house. On the bigger systems it even has a panel that will switch power over automatically if the grid goes down. I have my system going through a six circuit manual transfer switch.
you got a guide or youtube video you followed for this? sounds intruiguing

Not really from my childhood, but Prince of Persia Sands of Time is still an amazing game.

I couldn’t disagree more with this take. Braun was a true freshman who got plugged into 1B midseason due to team necessity, at a position he did not play in high school, despite what the uninformed Perfect Game profile readers claimed.
Though I’m not of the opinion that he was flawless, his fielding percentage would say otherwise. What I saw was someone who played the position solidly for a college level player and above average for a true freshman with very little prior experience. While I don’t think he’d be a bad OF, I also don’t think he has the overall athleticism to be an above average OF. Whereas, given an entire offseason of field work, he does have the capacity to become a consistent above-average defensive 1B, which is more about technique than raw athletic (Tre Morgan was the rare exception here).
Braun’s frame isn’t enormous but 6’0” is more than fine for college, where ability to scoop a ball out of the dirt is vastly more important than having a massive frame. If anything, I don’t see his “body type” fitting the mold of a college OF. Receiving the ball from the left side also helps (a specific play in the SECT comes to mind).
I’m willing to bet on Braun as a long term option at 1B, especially given his bat.
Agree completely, I think of all the IF spots(short of Milam coming back) Braun at 1st may be just about written down in pen.

He is such a team player, I'd love to have him around, and he is great to have as a 3rd catcher, but I'd imagine it would be hard to have a spot with all the incoming freshman

Been to Omaha 3 times, been to the zoo 3 times.
Next time I go to Omaha, I will go to the zoo.
It's the best zoo I have ever been to.

Jay is not messing around. This is certainly a different approach to last year so far. All 3 pickups will make massive impacts on next years team.
He isn't done either.
I still can't understand why anyone doubted that Jay would get us back in the hunt for #9.
