Masters Trip: Lodging experiences and tips from those who have been?

Kinda surprised I didn’t see an old thread about this. Looking for info about staying near Augusta for the Masters next year. I know it’s expensive AF to stay in town. We’re looking for good areas to search for condo or small cabin/house rentals. Only qualifications are: less than an hour drive to Augusta; casual dining and grocery options nearby. I’m sure some if you have experiences to share. TIA

We've rented the same house from a couple in Evans for the last 15+ years.
Only takes about 20 minutes to get to the course in the AM. There's a strip center about a mile or so away that has a Kroger or Randall's, a gym, and a few restaurants.
I think we spend about $4-5k all in, but there's usually 8 guys splitting the amount, so it's not bad at all.

I stayed at the Spark by Hilton this year. It is right off Washington Rd by I-20. Not high end but very serviceable and minutes to Augusta National. Points were easy to use as well. Would do it again for the value.

I’m just curious. How do you go to the Masters for 15 years? Do you work for Titleist?

It's thanks to one of my buddies.
He grew up in Augusta - he and his family have badges, so as long as they keep paying ANGC each year, then I should be able to go.
I would love to work for Titleist though!

Ive been the last two years. First year we stayed at a Hampton Inn located in Thomson. It wasnt bad for what it was - think we paid 450 a night. Last year , we stayed in Aiken, SC. 650 a night for a shitty Townplace. It was awful. Both locations were about 20-30 to the course. My son won the lottery this year, hes already struggling to find something in Augusta.

I’ve stayed at a Days Inn in Aiken for like $500/night and it was awful.
One year 5 of us split a basement room (no windows) at the Partridge Inn in Augusta and it was amazing. The bar is a scene with tons of PGA players and super hot rich east coast chicks. 10/10 the way to do it.

We stayed in Athens. Enjoyed the UGA bar scene then got up and left early next morning. Traffic was bad in Augusta but thats gonna happen wherever you stay. It was about hour and half away if i remember correctly.

Oh- regarding food options. There is a little shack looking place called Rhinehart's that everyone loves. Its average at best, but a fun place to drink beers. I did have the shrimp basket for $12.00- 6 huge shrimp fried up perfectly. I have to go to Augusta a lot for work and one of my local folks loves Rhineharts. They eat ranch on their fried tilapia- no thanks to that.

I think Augusta National is getting more imvolved in the hospitality aspects of the event.
I saw a $219,000 package listed through them. All inclusive.

Honestly just bite the bullet and stay in town. Places within an hour drive aren’t THAT much cheaper. Just stay close by to minimize driving and maximize your time at the course. We stayed at a Sleep Inn two years ago. Was 10 minutes from the course and serviceable enough considering we really only slept there. Enough decent food options in town, and yes Reinhardt’s is a great place to go drink beer and eat fried seafood after a long day at Augusta National.
