Flight was supposed to be at 7. Got delayed last night to 7:40. No big deal until it got delayed until 10:40. Had to call the travel agent and get bumped to a flight MUCH later at connection. Woke up this morning to a message saying flight was delayed until 12. Not ideal but manageable because of my stupid long layover. Now flight was delayed until 4:00, all before 6 in the morning. WTF?

Domestically, for the major airlines my experiences have been better with American than United. That being said, American usually ranks well to the bottom.

I don't know where you flew from/to but the there was a major storm front moving through South Louisiana yesterday evening which caused some major delays and even if the weather wasn't present when you were supposed to fly there were other planes just sitting at the gate that had to be delayed so it kind of pushes everything back.

We had a flight to Vermont completely cancelled on Sat and couldn’t rebook anything until Monday but with 4 connecting stops. I was on hold for 3+ hours then finally got our destination changed to Boston and had to drive to Vermont. It was a disaster traveling Sat.

Where you flying to (I know you're going through Charlotte)? Surprised they delayed it that long this early in the morning. AA is notoriously bad for rolling delays aka the plane is supposed to board in 5 minutes but the flight hasn't even left Dallas yet. Then they delay it 45 minutes once the system catches up, but by the time it catches up it realizes there's another delay of 30 minutes.

At least a travel agent should be able to help you get rebooked

It’s all squared away, just fricking frustrating. Especially once I saw that as I got everything rebooked today there was now an available flight at 7 am only 1/4 full.

They're all bad, but I would rank AA slightly ahead of United.

All depends on your home base. At DFW I rarely have an issue.

Whichever airline currently has you delayed/lost luggage/canceled flight is the worst (insert never flying them again).

yeah they are all guilty at some point. Honestly commercial air travel is a complex house of cards that works better than it has a right to considering

United fricked me hard trying to get out of Seattle Friday (cancelled a 1pm flight at 6am) and left us scrambling but it happens

I am EXP with AA, 100+ flights with them a year. I do about 20 between United, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, etc.

They are all about the same when you travel enough. AA has taken very good care of me over the years.

Yes. It’s the only airline I refuse to fly unless I’m forced to due to work obligations.

I'm a former AA PPro that flew 50-75 flights with them a year. They seems to constantly have issues and stranded me more times than I can count. Finally walked away during Covid and switched to United/Delta. It was difficult being DFW based but now that I'm AUS based it isn't as bad since most places require a connection for me now.

Gave AA another shot last month and 3/ flights had delays and one caused me to misconnect so they rebooked me on United.

That, coupled with the fact that they have degraded their inflight offerings (When everyone else is adding IFE aa is ripping it all out) and their loyalty program is now based on who can spend the most on an AA credit card and not on how much you fly, makes it hard for me to see ever going back.

I use my iPad so the IFE thing doesn't bother me domestically. It is on all of the widebodies for international travel.

I was against LP at first, but the reality is that people who "buy" status are not flying every week. My upgrade % has went up tremendously over the last year compared to before.

I’m limited by being in a small market airport so I don’t have a lot to choose from. Domestically we only fly American or United. We don’t use Delta at all. What airline we use depends on where we are going. Usually east coast is United and west coast is American.
I think I like the planes and the service better on American. Overall all the international airlines are way better than our domestic companies.
