English friends coming to NOLA on Friday afternoon - and I'm taking them to LSU-OM on Sat

these are people that I've known for a very long time, but don't have that much time over here...they get here Friday afternoon and leave Monday morning...
Anyway, what I'm looking at is picking them up at MSY around 3 PM on Friday, hitting Cafe Du Monde on Vets for beginets than bringing them into NOLA through River Road and Oak Street where they can do the St. Charles Ave drive into downtown...depending on timing, doing some of the Bywater as well, or maybe a quick run by the WW2 museum...
got a recommendation to take them to Mulates early evening so they can experience some Cajun cooking and music, then walk them down Bourbon to Preservation Hall for a set or two (they wanted to hear some music)...of course there will be Hurricanes/Hand Grenades/Purple Drink involved...
Saturday morning we head to BR to go tailgating...they are looking forward to it and I figure as soon as they open their mouths to talk, folks will be offering them stuff...spend Saturday night in BR and head back to NOLA...
some suggestions for Sunday please?

Tour of Nottaway or Houmas House on your way back to NOLA?

Based on what you have them doing Friday, I don’t think you will like my Sunday suggestions.
Is the WWII necessary? They are from England, right?

Dude.
Dude. Do you hate these people?
Mulates is one of the worst tourist shitholes in the city.

Please spare them Mulates. It is horrible.

Cafe Du Monde in the city. No F'ing Mulate's. Consider heading back to New Orleans after the game.

Hell no to Mulattes.
Instead of Cafe DuMond in Veterans take them to Morning Call at City Park. Better food and a much better view. They would appreciate that a lot.
For Sunday make reservations at Commanders Palace or Atchafalaya for brunch

Yeah I’d go to Morning Call in City Park as well.
I’m not sure why you’d take them to New Orleans for Cajun food and music when it isn’t a Cajun city.
Take them to a better restaurant and then take them to Frenchmen for music.

Would these people be interested in some real drinks by chance, we could suggest something other than those sugary crap drinks

Instead of Mulates do College Inn on Carrollton and walk over to rock n bowl. Food at College Inn is very regional and spectacular.

Fair enough. But I’m guessing they have some stops in Europe to visit before NOLA on WWII. It’s like going to visit England and visiting a Revolutionary War museum. Don’t bring them there

Definitely do Morning Call in the park. Honestly, I wouldn't even drive them through Metairie except for I10, let alone eat there. The St. Charles drive is a good idea though.
Eat some BBQ shrimp and gumbo at Mr. Bs in the quarter, and then get drinks at Pat Os and walk down Bourbon.
Hit Frenchmen instead of Preservation Jazz Hall. Start at Vaso and just work yall's way down to hear music.
Finish off with a crawfish ettouffee hotdog at Dat Dogs.
Sunday, check out the Bywater for Brunch at Paladar 511 or Elizabeths. Royal Street and the riverfront afterwards. Haunted houses are open if they wanted to do the Mortuary.

If you are picking them up at 3, skip the WW2 museum. It closes at 5 and two hours isn't nearly enough time to spend there. When we went (granted it was on Memorial Day) we were there a good four hours and didn't see everything.
I would suggest either a trip to Mardi Gras World to see some of the props up close or the museum at the Presbytère - both the Mardi Gras exhibit and the Katrina exhibit are really well done and those two things are both things that have shaped New Orleans and are well known to people around the world.

Take them to Jacques Imos and then Maple Leaf after for music. Much more local and a hell of a lot more fun.
Also, it is almost impossible to do a "quick" run through the WW2 Museum, especially if they have a real interest in the stuff.

Yeah you need 4 hours in the WW2 museum at a minimum.

Hey bud, in my humble opinion, here are a few better suggestions.
•Pick them up at the airport and get them checked in
•Hop on the streetcar and roll down to Hot Tin rooftop bar for some good cocktails with a view; could also hit up a slew of other great bars like Delachaise, Avenue Pub, or Cooter Brown’s (depending on their style/tastes)
•Definitely scratch Mulate’s as many have noted. If price is no issue, I’d recommend Restaurant Revolution/GW Fins/Galatoire’s. Cheaper but great options are Peche, Felix’s, or even Borgne/Jack Rose
•Preservation Hall is a good time, especially if they just want a taste of jazz music; if they want to dive in, then send them to Frenchman and hit up dba, Cafe Negril, and Blue Nile
•Avoid the hurricanes and hand grenades; they’re shite drinks for tourists; get them good New Orleans cocktails like a Sazerac, French 75, etc.
•Take then to Cafe DuMonde downtown or to Morning Call in City Park for breakfast the next morning (or for late night on Friday if you’re downtown); another suggestion would be Stanley’s or Court of Two Sisters jazz brunch buffet and sit outside in the courtyard

New Orleans is one of the great restaurant cities in the world and you are taking them to Mulatte's? There are 100 places within walking distance from there that will be better. Also, I don't think they need to spend a lot of time on Vets. Get beniegts in the Quarter or at least City Park. Tiger Stadium is a great idea though.

Take them to Upperline and and get the Tasting Menu, also the roast duck. Might be my favorite meal in the city.
