I'm looking forward to bringing the kids. Pop Century a good hotel to stay at? I plan on flying in on Sun and flying back home on Sat. So 5 days worth of Disney stuff

Pop is a good resort. It's on the skyliner so that helps with transportation. Counter service dining is decent there but no table service BUT you can hop on the skylner and go to Caribbean Beach or Riviera (get the Baked brie from Bar Riva) for table service options nearby.

Stay away from “All Star” or the low end resort if possible. French Quarter on property is convenient and has good set up. They change the ticketing and fast pass every year so research that. Yak and Yeti restaurant is fun and decent food.

another thing I look for is the sales. RIght now for example they are doing rooms at All Star for $99/night so you can get connecting rooms (two bathrooms, four beds, etc) for under $200/night.
Thats MUCH cheaper than what a family suite at Art of Animation will cost.

Since you have 5 full days, I highly recommend planning in afternoon naps/pool time for kids that age. The parks are just a lot of everything - walking, people, lines, noise, people... lol. And honestly, 4 year olds are entertained by a box of crayons, so it can be a bit much for them to go all day without a break.
Going back to the resort to swim for a little while and take a moment to refresh before dinner/fireworks is, in my opinion, the only way to do it with their ages.

I highly recommend staying at either The Contemporary or Boardwalk or Beach Club. Being able to walk to at least one park on your first trip makes it so worth it. The walk back to Contemporary after Magic Kingdom fireworks alone makes it worth staying there. From Boardwalk, you can easily walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios, so we love staying there as well.

I took my 3 year old and then 5 month old to Disney in April. We stayed at Beach Club.
We liked that it was walking distance to Epcot. My daughter and I got there early so she could meet Elsa and then walked to the Norwegian restaurant next door for the princess breakfast.

Don't listen to the nay-sayers.
Epcot is great. It's my 6 year old's favorite park (and mine).
Best transportation and value is Pop Century. Any of the Skyliner properties are really great to me.

I'd also add that another bonus for girls is that you can meet most of the princesses around the world area. In addition to Anna & Elsa, we met non-mermaid Ariel, Belle, Aurora, Snow White, Alice, girl from Wish

Pro tip - Moana is a lot easier to catch at Animal Kingdom. WAY shorter line. Pocahantas is there also.

We're going to Disney World next week for the first time.
It was overwhelming at first, but once I got the hang of how Lightning Lane works and the tier levels at each park, it seems to be worth the purchase. Like another poster said, I don't want to spend the money required to visit Disney and then spend most of my time standing in long lines. Thankfully, the Disney app has a very friendly UI so it makes booking rides and modifying them really easy if you have basic tech skills.
We got the quick service plan and based on the menu's I've seen at the parks, I think that should cover lunch and supper every day.

Yep - You're already dropping what you're dropping, so saving a few hundred and waiting in line is silly to me.
BUT to each his own. A lot of people wait in line...

When you're in the app on the map, if you scroll across the top, you can choose characters, attractions, etc. to see what is where. It's unbelievably accurate - you can even figure out the quickest path like you're driving on Google Maps

Our favorite is the Swan due to its location (walk or boat to Epcot and Hollywood) and being Marriott. It’s a Disney partner so you still get the same perks of staying at a Disney hotel. Pop is a good budget option, we just found the rooms to be too cramped for us and didn’t love the food court.
You will hate yourself when purchasing the lightning lanes but when you get there you will be very glad you have them.
There is something great to enjoy at every park. If you want to go around the world at Epcot, get your kids a passport to get stamped. It gives them something to do while you enjoy the drinks. My personal favorites are Animal Kingdom and Hollywood.
Do a little research on food and dining options. There is a lot of very good food in Disney but there is also a lot of not so good. There are a lot of good Facebook reels that highlight Disney food.

I’d this is your kids first time, stay on site. Going to be a little more expensive , but it’s worth it.

Spend the extra $500 on lightning lanes - if your dropping $6/7k, what’s then difference.
Get dining plan- just got back a few weeks ago and dinners ran $250-300 for 3 at sit down restaurants (not signature, just the normal ones). Also good to not have to worry about getting most expensive thing and “saving $”
