Does anyone know any resorts out west that have cheap spring passes? I’m looking to head out west to bum it out of my Jeep for a few weeks in March, I know A Basin has season passes for $350 but I’m trying to avoid summit county if possible.

If you don't mind driving a bit extra Mt Rose and Sierra in Tahoe are pretty cheap. They are both "locals" mountains. Headed to Sierra and Kirkwood this weekend.

I’ll have to look into that, I spent some time out at Squaw last season and I’d love to get back out to Tahoe.

16" at Jackson Hole. Drove up last night and scored huge. Lightest deepest snow I've skied.

Are you going to be going around to Targhee or just staying at JHMR?

ETA: make sure to hit up the Coach for a few beers

Just a quick two day Jackson venture. Today was insane. Lightest snow I've ever ski'd. Probably a top 5 day of my life. So damn deep. So damn good.

Last Saturday it was pretty sparse. Lot of rocks and patchy snow, but still skiable for sure. It snowed Sunday so it should be a little better.

Everyone's jealousy is well founded. It was quite a two-day trip.

RIP Warren Miller, the sport just lost its biggest legend. His influence on skiing and action sports cinematography can not be understated.

RIP Warren Miller.

We had one of those storms last night in Steamboat. From Joels morning update. Let the Travel board jealousy continue. Working until 1 then gonna go find some stashes in the trees.

quote:

It’s a magical morning in Steamboat on Friday!

The official snow report at 500 am says 5 inches at mid-mountain and the summit, but the summit snow-stake camera shows 9-10 inches as of 630 am, and the SNOTEL backcountry weather station on Buffalo Pass to the north of Steamboat shows about 10 inches with 0.3 inches of water content. That would be a snow-to-liquid ratio of 30-to-1, or unscientifically named, “Blower Pow”, or as Steamboat says, “Champagne Powder”. I am serious when I say that if you’re in town on Friday morning, do everything you can to get to the upper part of the mountain to ski deep, light, blower, Champagne Powder.

The snow should continue to fall for a few more hours on Friday morning, then will taper off to showers by late morning or midday. So there should be even more snow than the 9-10 inches that’s on the summit snow stake right now.

I'm ignorant to Colorado geography and weather, but would this snow event help the Arapahoe and Breck areas as well?
Will be there in 2 weeks.

We just got back from Copper (near Breck) for MLK day. There was more than enough snow. Some of the back bowls weren't open but the majority of the mountain was. All greens and blues open. We had almost a foot of snow the first day.
