Lost the remote for the main TV in the living room. New Sony Bravia. What is the go-to move?

Is there a universal remote that everybody likes or should I just get the same replacement remote?

I would buy a new one. Amazon has them. My Cox universal is a little wonky with my Sony Bravia.

1-800 remotes / remotes.com should be able to hook you up. Bought several RC's from them over the years

How did you lose it? It has to be in the house somewhere

I feel your pain on this. People without little kids truly have no idea.

Just last week, I hid the remote to the Apple TV box. My daughter loses it daily, and it infuriates TF out of me. I use the Apple TV box to watch 90% of my TV.

I repeatedly tell her to keep the remote on the armrest or cupholder of the loveseat, but that fricker (the remote) always winds up in the annals of some crevice underneath that requires a lojack locater beacon and fishing cable to retrieve.

She asked me yesterday where the remote was at, and I told her she's forbidden to use it since she loses it on the reg. Maybe this will teach her a lesson, but that's just wishful thinking on my part.

If it uses Google TV, just download that to your phone and use the remote in the app.

I replaced a remote for a 55" Sony Bravia and ordered an OEM from:

Dan's

No problems whatsoever.

Just Google your remote’s model number and you’ll get several choices from Sony. Did it not long ago. Not cheap.

Several years ago we lost an expensive remote (like a hundred bucks) and could not find it. One afternoon two of my daughters boyfriends were visiting and I offered a $20 reward if the four of them could find it. They darn near tore our den apart but sure enough, they found it in 10 minutes. Was real deep inside the arm of a recliner. And I paid up.

When this happens at my house, they get no electronics or food until they find it. Scavenger hunt, winner gets extra dessert.

GOAT remote

You could set it on your thigh or on the couch/chair and press the buttons without having to pick it up.

Buy another one. That’s the only way to find it.

I own this remote. It's in a drawer, though. I tell Alexa everything to do, or use the control all on my phone.
