I think you’re limited to certain things you can do while driving. You can select playlist and such with touch but not much else.
Just use voice commands.

Isn't the entire point of CarPlay to create a simplified interface that is safe to use while driving? That's stupid. Have you tried switching to a new artist with Siri? Maybe that could be a work around.

this was always the logical conclusion of turning our lives over to giant tech. It's for your own good. Tried taking a screenshot of something on my phone i had opened in an incognito tab and the phone said "nope".
Tried casting a video stream from a questionable url to my Chromecast and Google said "nope".
Tried mirroring my screen to push the local morning show to a tv from my Comcast app and Google said "sorry Comcast asked us to not let you mirror your screen".
And now the same 1000s of weirdoes who keep us safe from incorrect wikipedia edits have been hired by the media giants and are gleefully removing any socal media post you make they don't like.
Any idea you're in control and using these apps as a tool is an illusion. You are the tool and at any time what you can say and do can be taken away.
A few years ago apple said "nope" to turning over iphone records for the San Bernardino terrorists. Last week apple told the feds "take anything you want" regarding a protestor suspected of setting a car on fire.

I like the Back Tap feature. Double tap the back of the phone now brings up my control panel.

BTW: Been shopping for new stereo's for my old truck and that's a hidden gotcha with lot's of models.

CarPlay works fine for me. My only beef with it is I want Waze to be my default on their Home Screen setup rather than google maps. No adjusting that. Hopefully they will allow you to create and upload your own backgrounds at some point too. Music played fine no issues.

You have RJ unplug the phone from the car in order to change artists, playlists, etc. you can do it via voice command, but what happens if you don’t remember the name of the album? You’re shite out of luck, that what happens.

Has anyone figured out how to put widgets on the Lock Screen or am I missing something? I could be overlooking something, but I don’t see how to do it.

That’s on Google. For whatever reason they added that functionality to Maps, but not Waze.

TD doesn’t work well on chrome. I’ve noticed that. Cuts off about 1/8 of the screen.

I use Amazon music and have controls on my wheel. I can also switch via the CarPlay screen. No issues for me.

Any good iOS apps for DNS with filtering using the whole phone DNS encryption feature in iOS 14 yet (instead of having to run as a faux VPN just for DNS)?
During beta I tried NextDNS’s beta that was set up for this, but an iOS beta update stopped it from working with a personal VPN setup (VPN doesn’t have any DNS content filtering) and later it stopped working on cell network and was inconsistent with Wifi. NextDNS never updated their beta 2.0 app after I think iOS 14 beta 3 or 4, and they seem to be pushing downloading a profile for the iOS 14 feature right now (which I thought was part of device management features for business controlled devices not personal).
I can still set up an app to work as VPN to use for DNS filtering, but VPN connections have been sketchy for me with iOS 14.

Only bug I've found so far is my widgets are not updating.
