I can't see him getting all that excited for 2 Gold Cups, however I can see him getting excited that he won't have to go to Panama or Honduras for WC qualifiers.

This is actually pretty good timing for a top manager to dip his toes in international management. You don't have to worry about the grind of qualifying (not that it matters much anymore with expansion) and the USMNT has 3 straight tournaments leading into the WC on home soil.

Does Jose know you can score more than 3 goals?

if we can’t get Zidane, I’m completely ok with this. in our transition from plucky underdogs to competent top 15ish on the world we lost the edge that we all loved growing up. if nothing else, Jose would help turn our player pool back into the dogs they always should’ve been

At least Jose is a straight shooter, and someone the players would instantly respect. And he wouldn’t put up with the likes of the MLS frat boys and trying to play the kumbaya guru.

You don't get any worse, uninspired soccer than Jose Mourinho

Even a D- effort towards US soccer media/ supporter groups would still score an A+ with me. We're grading on a very wide curve here.

Yes, would be a bad hire. He was terrible at Spurs and killed the culture there. He has not adapted as well to the modern game and I’m guessing the players would hate him.

I just think if Jose is hired, we'll be looking for a new coach again in 2025 because either we'll be tired of his shite or he will be tired of our shite.
