We look worse than we did under Jurgen.

I have no idea what Berhalter is going for but at some point you gotta realize you're a national team manager and your domestic league is fricking MLS. Take what you have and make the most of it. You aren't Pep fricking Guardiola so don't complicate it. You get a couple weeks here and there to make something work.

It’s not. But it’s still much better than Canada.

I think there’s enough talent there, properly motivated and coached, to beat Canada in a competitive match. I mean, Haiti pulled it off!

It's better than Canada's though.

Is it though? I’m really not sure anymore.

Thank God for CONCACAF. But even so I am not confident we make it. And that’s just crazy.

It's basically impossible for us to miss one again with the new qualifying, so we get to enjoy Gregg through an 0-3 pool play world cup. And then it's still 50/50 we get a new coach

I'm thinking fifa realized our downfall so they expanded the field, just because the US would provide TV viewers.

Based on current form it’s marginally better, at best.

Not for 2022, we still have to qualify through the Hex which we obviously failed last time.

Top-seeded Hexagonal group: The top 6 ranked CONCACAF teams based on the FIFA rankings of June 2020 will play home-and-away round-robin matches in one single group (often referred to as the "Hexagonal"). The top three teams will qualify for the World Cup, and the fourth-placed team will advance to the CONCACAF play-off round.

Yeah, which is what the Hex has always been.

Jesus Christ Gregggggg, you even made my boy pville quit.

That was one of the worst games I’ve watched the USMNT play. Look, I’ve been very vocal about my displeasure with certain aspects of Pulisic’s game, and he certainly wasn’t great tonight, but subbing him off before RoLdaN?!?! Jesus Christ Greggggg, that’s so bad it’s actually funny.

But for reals, #BerhalterOut.

No:

Fourth round: 12 teams (teams ranked 1–6 by CONCACAF and six third round winners) were divided into three groups of four teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches. The top two of each group advanced to the fifth round.

Fifth round: The six teams which had advanced from the fourth round played home-and-away round-robin matches in one group (often referred to as the "Hexagonal"). The top three qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the fourth-placed team advanced to the inter-confederation play-offs.

Difference is auto qualify into the hex v. Having to qualify for the hex.
