Doesn't he have a ridiculously low number of wins against top teams? Like 3? Who had those numbers.

The problem is this team is soft. It showed today when Panama threw us around and the ref let them play.

For some reason, our team has always seemed afraid to get in the mud and play CONCACAF ball against CONCACAF teams. The refs are going to frick us no matter what, might as well play dirty and cause some injuries.

This is what made Dempsey a legend IMO. His mission was to aggravate the frick out of Central Americans and he was excellent at it.

I’ll play devil’s advocate here. If we kept all our guys in with 10 men, and didn’t win, we’d be exhausted for Uruguay

I don’t love playing for the draw, but I get it. It’s a shite on Tim Weah night for me. frick Gregg in general though

But his Air Jordans were on point..

Agree… we were down one guy and played like we were down five.

I have a hard time not assigning the majority of the blame to the moron who lost his marbles and punched an opponent in the back of the head 18 minutes into the game. Weah should be put on the next bus out of town and not invited back for a long, long, long time.

I don't pretend to be a soccer expert and I rarely post on this board for that reason, but this one is obvious.

My biggest issue with Gregg in this game was switching to a MF 3 in defense at the half. The 4-4-1 was holding and asking a bank of 3 to get a foothold in that game was stupidity. We don’t have a MF 3 in defense when we have 11 men for christs sake

Oldmanbeasley isn’t depressed, but he’s a little pressed.

There's blame all around. Losing because of stupidity.

I can agree with that to an extent… but Greggggg wants to be “friends” and they loooove him … they don’t fear any repercussions… doesn’t some of that start with the coach? I think so.

I enjoyed watching carli Lloyd in a red dress more than the game.

That clown ref gave 11 minutes of stoppage time to Honduras-Mexico in November.

I’m so pissed about this. Such a waste and just makes me feel US soccer is hopeless. Our talent is overrated, no question, but we have more than Panama and our play simply lacks confidence and toughness.

Is there any path forward for the program in terms of actual international competence? Firing Gregg is step one. I don’t care if Weah lost his head, Gregg is the CEO of on field results so everything that happens is his fault or to his credit. Not getting out of this crap group is unacceptable and is a fireable offense. Bolivia and Panama are utter, unmitigated burning dumpsters of rat piss soaked trash at soccer. So is the U.S. apparently.

Why should they? Claudio Reyna and his trash wife proved all it takes is a little bit of whining to completely undermine any authority Berhalter might have had.

Yes, 3 wins against top 20 teams. I believe 2 are against Mexico and the other is against Iran.

3 against mexico (two nations leagues and gold cup with C team) and then Iran.

The stats for this game are 19 fouls for Panama and 3 yellows 1 red. 4 fouls for USA 2 yellows and 1 red. Richards got one of the yellows after the panama red. Just insanely poorly refereed.

Our back line is weak so you put another weaker player out there to help? Dumb tactic. Should’ve pulled the 9 and let CP10 be an attacking mid.

Tactically, CP probably should have come off. He doesn’t have the strength to hold that ball up, and offers very little defensively.

Or we don’t go to a back 5 and CP can play up top with Flo and it probably looks a lot different.

You think Tim Weah is elite? Pulisic is definitely…

No, but just suspending him for the rest of the tournament as others are suggesting is asinine when we aren’t talented enough to just not play one of our best 11.

That would have worked but Balo was busting his arse out there. I would have been perfectly fine rolling with the same 10 to start the second half

That’s what I’m saying. Have CP playing top attacking mid and should’ve left Gio in to control the ball.
