The midfield was 99% of the problem this game
Big part of the problem but there was other obvious ones as well

Also TYFYS to the best stretcher team of all time

TUDN and Univision are carrying the match.

Why do you guys always do this to yourselves?

This game was a mixture of normal concacaf official ineptness, Honduran shithousery, and tactical retardedness.
It’s CONCACAF. The first two are to be expected, so we have to get the third right. We didn’t. That’s on Gregg. It has to be better against Mexico or else we are going to get run off the field. He needs to sub earlier and adjust his tactics when things aren’t working. He has shown up to this point to be incredibly tactically inflexible.

the play by play guy is fricking unbearable

I don’t get either with YouTubeTV.

The problem is you’re going to have games where musah and Adams aren’t available. Best case scenario they start Sunday and we roll. But even then Gregg needs to have a plan b if those guys can’t go. Be we’re getting torn to shreds by fricking Honduras as is

I don't think he can have a plan B until he finds someone that can fill in for Adams and it not be such a drop off.
Gregg has gameplanned so much around Adams since the moment he took the job, first in the role as an inverted RB and then now with this 4-3-3 press, where so much is dependent on the #6 to be able to break up the counter attack.
We don't have anyone else right now that can come close to doing that.
Acosta showed glimpses a couple of months ago against Jamaica, but apparently now he's getting beat out by Jackson Yueill in training in Gregg's eyes, so that's not problematic.
A committed Darlington Nagbe would be good to have right now.

We didn’t get much from the 9 position all match
I think a lot of it was that he had to play back in the defensive Midfield so often tonight.

Good news is that Mexico has looked underwhelming as well tonight.

Roy Lassiter's son plays for Costa Rica?
Posted on 6/3/21 at 10:59 pm to Broski
Born there while playing professionally.

I’m feeling a lot like Ted Lasso at the moment. Sipping some bourbon, can’t speak Spanish, watching this on TUDN, and know very little about the game to begin with. It’s a party.

Yep, just looked it up, his mom is Costa Rican too.

Costa Rica subbing on a guy who looks like he was playing intramurals at Princeton a couple weeks ago.

There's a picture of me and Roy somewhere when he visited my club team back in the late 90s when the USMNT was in town training for a Gold Cup (I believe but can't be certain). The main memory I have is him straight hitting on a female college player who was a camp coach for one of the girls teams.

Which now explains Ari Lassiter's existence.

Yeah, it looks like they straight up have a white guy.
