You think these dudes just aren’t trying?

I saw a lot of jogging back on defense, lazy passes, getting bodied by smaller players, losing all the one-on-ones.

Most of that is effort-related.

Good to experience some adversity before the knockout round

They were booing the ref for calling the half while we were attacking.

He blew the whistle exactly at the +6 minute mark. Berhalter was right in the middle of a throw

Edit: man like 3 other people had this exact same comment. No wonder the boos were so loud

Yall act like we arent facing a pretty good team with our backups. Theyve got dudes from real madrid and juventus up top and weve got dudes for Celtic (and he has been our best player tonight) and MLS
truth. They really aren’t as bad as their results in first 2 games. They did have 62 shots in those games

I fully expected Turkey to breakthrough and score goals tonight but had hoped someone on the 2nd team would’ve made a case for themselves to be super subs in knockouts. Not seeing that out of anyone

Yep

Didn't look like they were trying too hard tbh.

Weak, slow and mentally checked out.

Miles Robinson and Weah were really bad. Mackenzie screwed up badly on the first goal. Reyna tries to play like Messi and never run only he’s not a millionth of the player.

22 looks like a computer program controlled defender from a 90’s video game. He’s there but doing absolutely nothing

Maybe I’m too positive, but I didn’t think the performance was that bad. Despite the results, Turkey’s squad is better than our first two opponents, and our backups played them pretty evenly.

One of the best players in the world in Arda Guler scored, and Stu said something like “This Türkiye team does actually have quality” as if Turkey is some Concacaf minnow.

I haven’t seen anyone do anything impressive outside of Weston. Our shape looks like an amoeba, we are all sixes and sevens at the back and we are playing kick ball.

All I’ve been hearing is how deep this team is. I don’t see it.

If any of these defenders have to play real minutes, it's going to be white knuckle to the whistle.

I mean it's about cohesion. They aren't playing cohesive as a second unit, but does that necessarily mean that they wouldn't be cohesive with other starters?
