I wonder if they think Gio can go 90.
I think Weah could be an impact sub, but I think I’d rather him going at them from the very start and wearing them out.

starting at striker
Hopefully no one. Especially not Jesus!

likely to use a false 9
He should, with a front of Reyna, Pulisic, and Weah, with Aaronson on at 60 to run at tired defenders, but he won’t.

crazy to think Sargent
He could be dangerous late as well. But I don’t see him starting.

This would be my plan going in (subs in parentheses)
Turner
Dest (Yedlin) Zimmerman Ream Jedi
Adams
McKennie (LDLT) Musah (Acosta)
Weah Pulisic (Sargent) Reyna (Aaronson)

I think we’re probably kidding ourselves if we expect GGG to do anything other than Jesus/Josh at the 9
And I also think the MMA midfield is as good as locked in, as well. So 2 of these 3 aren’t starting IMO - Gio, Weah, Aaronson.

Based on the above I think we see the following lineup:
Sargent
Pulisic-Aaronson-Weah
Musah-Adams
Robinson-CCV-Zimmerman-Yedlin
Turner
RB and midfield are the biggest question marks. It seems like Dest and McKennie are not fully recovered/fit from their recent injuries.
We may stick to our 4-3-3 but with Aaronson still pressing higher up the pitch.

Your plan is to play Pulisic at false 9 against a team that’s going to be sitting back in a low block, and Ream against a team that is looking to counter fast? Bold move cotton.

I love this part when we get to brass tacks and discuss tactics, lads

If I go down, I want to go down with my best XI on the pitch. Especially with GGG’s listless tactics that are going to rely on individual brilliance to get past the bus. And with a makeshift back line, I like the Fulham partnership with Ream and ARob on the left.

I'm just glad all our boys are finally healthy at the same time. Makes for some interesting lineup options.
On another note, I love Adams as the captain. Takes pressure of CP10 so he can just focus on creating chances, while Tyler will have 2 good vets in Ream and Zimmerman right behind him on the field to support where needed.

CCV in that image...would be big shock if he starts. I wouldn't hate it but it would be a surprise.
WE FINALLY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY OUR BEST PLAYERS TOGETHER -- took the entire cycle to finally have the stars line up with ALL of our best talent available and healthy. We actually have no idea how good this team can be

They just said the game is at 1:00pm et on the broadcast. That’s not right is it? Everywhere I’ve seen says 2:00et.

Even with the McKennie question mark, I think we see the MMA healthy if Wes is near full fitness. Those three bossed Wales in the midfield in 2020 and that was when they first played together.
Agreed on this not being a match for Ream with Wales looking to counter, although his distribution would be welcomed. I would like to see CCV/Zimmerman, but I'm not sure Gregg views CCV as a left center back, which makes me fear we see Long.

That’s strong if Sargent plays well.
I’m excited about Adams and Musah. How do y’all think they stack up with previous midfield pairings?
2014 we had Bradley, Jermaine, Bedoya, and Beckerman starting in a 4-4-2.
2010 it was Bradley and Ricardo Clark.
ETA I can’t believe we brought on Edson Buddle late in the draw against England.

The biggest black eye injury wise of course is still Miles Robinson. It’s exciting to have the guys up top (mostly) healthy but I have a sinking suspicion we’re really gonna miss Miles by the time it’s all said and done.

I think we're going to miss Richards more than Miles. Richards really was the complete package.

Just glad our most important match is first. Who knows what we’ll be down to by matchday three. This team does not have the needed depth—yet!

Win today and it's almost impossible to not advance.
