My starting XI:

Sargent
Pulisic Weah
McKennie Musah
Adams
Jedi Zimmerman CCV Dest
Turner

Subs: Gio (Weah), Acosta (McKennie), Hadji (Irony; Sargent), Aaronsen (Musah), No Fifth Sub (Maybe for Dest, but if he is healthy you play his arse the full 90.)

If McKennie can’t go, I’d want to see Luca, but I know it would probably be Acosta or Roldan.

I actually wouldn’t hate Aaronson today with his ability to get back and defend. Weston brings a ton to the team, but rather him fully fit for Friday. Same with Dest, I think Yedlin can more than hold his own. His speed will be great at slowing down Bale.

How do y’all think they stack up with previous midfield pairings?

I think Bradley and Jones were the best pair from the recent world cups (not a true pairing though as Bradley kind of played a weird hybrid 10 thing because of Jozy’s injury and Clint being pushed up to the 9 position). I don’t remember 2002 or 2006. Come 2026 Adams and Musah, on their current trajectory, blow that pairing out of the water.

ETA I can’t believe we brought on Edson Buddle late in the draw against England.

We didn’t deserve Bob Bradley. That man made miracles happen with shite tier talent.

That Jozy injury killed our World Cup about 30 minutes into game 1. Just so brutal.

Healthy Jozy, Bradley and Clint in their natural positions, Donovan on the roster… oh what could have been.

Why Jurgen refused to play Bacon as the #9 the rest of the way, I'll never know.

I think he was dealing with a foot injury and wasn’t fully fit.
