Obviously we have reason to feel good about our recent play, but the reality is these next two games are games we could lose. If we lose to Costa Rica we're no longer in first place. If we lose both, we're probably in third place.

I find saying we are going to get NO points to these games both asinine and reactionary.

...It was a joke.

Players on a yellow:

quote:

Jermaine Jones, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley, Matt Besler, Geoff Cameron, Brad Davis, Clint Dempsey, Brad Evans, Tim Howard and Fabian Johnson

Let's assume that Davis won't play, and Evans starts (and Cameron doesn't).

Worst case scenario happens and Dracula cards ALL EIGHT of the rest (which is preposterous, BTW).

You could play a 4-2-3-1 against Mexico:

Guzan
Parkhurst-Omar-Goodson-Beasley
Beckerman-Cameron
Donovan-(pick one of Torres/Corona/Diskerud)-Zusi
Eddie Johnson

I'm all for playing the Gold Cup roster against Costa Rica, although Jurgen would never do that. We rarely get more than a draw on the road anyway.

Considering that we have to use the same players 4 days later against Mexico...

I'm willing to bet we lose one or two of the aforementioned guys to a yellow. There is no way any more than 3 of the players could get carded without stating a total shite storm in CONCACAF, and the Draculican knows it.

So what, bring the starting 11 of the Gold Cup and everyone else be the best available, sit out everyone with a card to his name.

Jurgen is in a tough place. Hopefully he balances a good team with player protection with card accumulation. Damn.
