We have more guys developing in Europe than ever, and getting younger and younger there. We are not at the level now or in the next two cycles more than likely to rely just on that once we get out of the group. We still need the gritty, I'm giving 110% for the patch on my chest guys that made the 02-16 cycles what they were guys out there to compliment that talent. Until Reyna and Berhlater came on, we had no one that showed they had that every possession. Luna and Berhalter are not the most talented at their positions, but when they put on the USMNT shirt they play with every ounce they have.

USA also needs to play more teams in the CONMEBOL because iron sharpens iron CONCACAF are cupcakes in comparison.

Yep. Again all for having Mexico and USA join Conmebol. Qualifying would mean a little bit more when you’re facing Argentina and Brazil instead of Barbados and Anguilla.

There's some rumors out there he could be heading to Europe soon. Dunno if it's too late for development or not, but stepping up in competition can't be the worst thing for him going forward

Exactly. Give me the right players. Not the most talented.

We needed the Luna that played with a broken nose mentality. It was missing.

This is who Pulisic is. Same reason why he couldn’t cut it in the Premier League, if a team is physical he will get injured or dominated.

They probably grew up embarrassing kids whose parents didn’t have the means their’s had. Jason Cundy, speaking about Pulisic’s time at Chelsea said he had “the heart of a pea”.

We desperately missed Luna yesterday, no two ways around it.

In my opinion, Luna isn't nearly good enough to play at this level.

For this & all similar arguments about "USA doesn't do real futbol"

Let me know when Mexico makes it past the round of 16. That said, Pulisic is a bitch. That was his moment, he ain't getting another at 31 years old

Pulisic had a bad game last night and then went off injured. He wasn’t the only player to play shitty. I’m not sure why he is being targeted specifically when Freese, Ream, and Dest all had similarly terrible games.

Like it or not, Pulisic is still the most accomplished club player we’ve ever produced, and he’s usually a guy who steps up for the national team. We are better with him than without him, and anyone watching this team for more than the past few weeks could tell you this. He will still be an integral part of the team come 2030.

It’s hard to have a captain or leader of a team that stays hurt. I’m not blaming him. It’s is what it is. We will do the same thing in 2030. I’ve seen this movie enough. The ceiling of the US team is maybe top 8 in a good cycle.

Maybe, maybe not if Poch or someone of his caliber is coaching. His entitled arse took off the gold cup, and responded to his well deserved criticism exactly how you would expect an entitled, privileged loser to react.

We got a clue about the mindset of some of these players last world cup. Golden generation my arse.

Not sure I follow. Pulisic started every game for Poch when healthy and available.

The Pulisic hatred in this thread is wild.

But I did say this in the Tim Ream thread about Pulisic, so I'll leave this here as well.

The Dortmund version of teenage Pulisic, to me, is still the best version of Pulisic.

His finishing wasn't as lethal as it is now, but he could dribble in tight spaces and had a crazy acceleration with above average top-end speed.

Now, his finishing is much better and he still is amazing at beating guys off the dribble, but he no longer has that same burst. He's still fast, mind you, but the countless lower body injuries have taken some of that way.

You see a lot more cutbacks from him when he's on the ball now and less running at and past defenders.

Was watching the Tim Howard and Landon Donovan pod and Landon said the same. He's a bitch. I have new respect for Landon even if I think he's a bit dull on the broadcast.
