Probability that Jozy Altidore plays more than 30 minutes?

I'm cautiously optimistic about his recovery. It would alleviate some much needed pressure from the forwards and open up our play even more. I'm setting the percent he'll play more than 30 at 55. That may sound a little too hopeful, but it would be incredible if it were the case.

It's hard to say since we're not really privy to his actual condition.
If it looks like he can play part of a game, I'd say it might be better to save him for the 2nd half. Here's my thinking.
From the games in the knockout round so far and from my admittedly vague memories of previous World Cups, etc. it seems like most of the scoring tends to be done in the 2nd half. Almost like the teams are doing a "feeling out" process in the 1st half and are more concerned about not giving up an early goal.
So if it looks like he only has 30 minutes or so hold him till sometime in the 2nd half when all the players are a bit tired and he could maybe do some damage.

I want him to start and score 2 goals and basically be the "Let's Do This Thing" guy along with Dempsey that leads us to the Semis!!!! It's on world, look out!

He has to start. No way you bring him in late and risk him going down after 10 minutes and losing two subs.
If he plays, he starts. If he can't go, we do what the Oranje did with their star enforcer and sub out when its obvious he is done.

I think we stick with the portugal lineup. Jozy is too risky to play. It might even be irresponsible of us to rush him back to the field.
I think the Portugal game showed that we can attack against top class teams with--or without--Jozy. If anyone is to sub in to attack alongside Clint, I'd want it to be Johannsson. He deserves another shot because he's looked really solid for club and country for us.

He is "available"...meaning he will be a sub. I would say he will come in with 20 min left if the score is tied or the US is behind by 1.
