I know we have a bunch of people here who don't follow team outside of the World Cup, but please just follow the next four years and then tell me you can root for Mexico.

I was at the 09 qualifier at Azteca. Sat in the middle of the Mexican crowd with my USA shirt on. Didn't have too many problems, but I was also with a large group of people I knew

For the record, I never once said I rooted for Mexico. I said I don't hate them. I said i don't care about them, they are not on my radar. I was rooting for a tie, for betting purposes. And I won, so I'm happy.

Hendo, you crack me up on here most of the time and I generally agree with a lot of what you have to say. Just disagree on this one.

TN Bhoy, eat a dick you miserable little shite.

A million times this.

You can't really understand the whole nature of the Mexico rivalry by picking up an interest in the USMNT every four years.

We'd like to thank you for supporting the team on the biggest stage, but don't think our hatred of Mexico is forced because you don't have a clue what this team or our fans go through whenever these two teams meet.

I not only pulled for Mexico, I also mowed my lawn immediately after the match.

Next time a Mexican fan gives you shite or throws something at you, do the same thing in response.

This is the thing. I love our team getting more support, but you also have to deal with people coming in here like they're some sort of expert and calling us out on mentalities that they know nothing about. It's really annoying, and probably the thing that's pissed me off most about the new posters (most of whom have been great, but there is a select minority that prefer to troll).

It's ok that they don't know the mentalities. Hell, it's even ok that they question them at first because they might seem different. But it is not ok to ignore them and continually try to correct them as if they feel like they have all of the answers.

That's the been the worst part.

Quit tolerating their shite. The more you let us (Mexicans in general) get away with, the more we'll continue to do and it will increasingly get worse.

This is nothing at all like pulling for the SEC in a football bowl game. This is F'n Mexico we are talking about.

How can anybody that actually watches the USMNT games ever pull for Mexico? No way you are a TRUE American soccer fan and ever consider pulling Mexico. They are dirty as hell and should never be considered to pulled for.

I would pull for Iran over Mexico in a heartbeat in a soccer game.

While I understand the hatred for Mexico, hatred is not something you can just feel out of thin air. It can't be invented.

For instance, I'm a San Francisco Giants fan...have been since I was old enough to comprehend baseball. My friends always give me shite because my dodgers hate is not as strong as theirs. I don't like the dodgers, I just don't give a frick about them.

I'm a warriors fan, and I hate the spurs. They aren't rivals. I just hate that they clinically take my team apart time after god damn time.

I used to manage at a restaurant, and all my cooks were Mexican. Hardest working frickers I've ever seen. A couple of them invited my gf and I to watch a us/Mexico friendly at their house with their families. It was the game we won at Azteca on the break Shea goal. They were heartbroken, but all 20 of them treated my girlfriend and I like gold. It was a nice moment, and it reminded me to not blanket label everyone.

There are a lot of shithead Mexico fans, but I don't hate people because of the color of their shirt. Leave that to shithead street gangs

Why would we not pull for our CONCACAF brothers?

We want CONCACAF to gain respect world wide, that gets our players respect and exposure.

It is like two siblings who fight tooth and nail, but always pull for each other.

Mexico can eat shite. Conference pride is overrated in football and completely meaningless in international soccer.

Do Brasil root for Argentina?

Does England root for Germany?

Do the Polish cheer for Russia?

Does anyone cheer for Italy in Europe other than Italians?
