COMPLETELY irrelevant.

FIFA will never allow the US to win the World Cup. Everyone needs to realize this.

It could have been more laughable. They could have said "2 minutes", but then later change it to "1 minute".

There are a lot of people who seem to think we got 1 minute for the entire second half and added time.

Of course we got 6 minutes, not one. For this game, I don't have a single complaint about the official. He did a great job.

For Portugal, I think 4 was better than 5, but it's within reason.

And yet you're going to get a number of traditionists coming on here telling you that keeping a simple clock on screen that accumulates the stoppage time throughout a half is unnecessary and detrimental to the game.

Yes you will.

It's not why we lost.

But one thing that should be improved in soccer is the stoppage time. I don't care what the purist say. It's pretty obvious that stoppage time would give clarity to the game and it's a pretty easy thing to implement.

The same people bitching right fricking now about FIFA ... will also come unglued at the suggestion of something as simple as a fricking clock that everyone can see.... can be stopped, started, etc.

You really just need a stoppage time clock if they don't want to actually start and stop the clock. So then everyone can see when exactly the stoppage time is being added.

USA leading a half? 5 minutes of stoppage. Down? 1 minute. Fair.

If this is the accepted party line ... then why even bother?

Better to say that FIFA would do anything to stop the USA from winning the Cup.

We got six minutes of stoppage time for 75 minutes of play. This is very reasonable.

It's literally as simple as letting a stoppage clock run and then in reverse in countdown when full time is over.

Are they not suppose to give a minute of extra time per goal? So, that while final period there wasn't any more stoppage time?

There's never much stoppage time after 15 minutes of extra time.

Why are people comparing getting 1 after 15 to getting 5 after 45?

1 is the norm in extra time.

Overall yes, it wasn't terrible officiating at all. In ET most of the time the added time isn't much but this definitely deserved more than 1

Not when you have 2 goals in the half.

Your strawman is in fire. Admit it, subjective time keeping is stupid.
