you will see numerous comments about his walking around, facial expressions, hand gestures, etc. the job of a coach is to manage the attitudes and personalities of players.
Sounds like any super talented young player who grew up in Europe or South America that is levels above his peers.
We made it boyz

Wait. Are you committing to not trotting out this "he wasn't 100%" thing again?

You know what you need bruh? You need to find a European team to support. It's not healthy to spend all of your energy supporting a national team that plays once in a blue moon.
You like confrontation.......you should support Barça so you can have a lot of opportunities to tell people to frick off

LOL at everyone having an excuse for Tyler Adams potentially liking Gregg. But heaven forbid someone points out the reports that Gio wasn't fully fit. That's all just lies. It's just hilarious people are so triggered by Gregg, they pick and choose what conspiracy theories to believe.
Everyone was seething about Gio’s lack of minutes. Now we have an explanation, and it’s so insane that half the coaching staff and most the team didn’t want him playing, and most this board is gonna seeth about this too now. There’s no pleasing people here.

This was debunked.

You’re just gliding right past the reality that his behavior came after Gregg told him he would have a very limited role.
The reason he had limited minutes is that Gregg decided to play him limited minutes. It’s not because he was pouting.
It doesn’t even make sense to suggest that he wasn’t playing due to pouting about not playing.

I’m betting all the MLS players voted to send him home.
You have to be a bad leader to go to a summit and tell this story with everything so fresh. This story should be buried at min until years later if not ever. GGG couldn’t help himself though

I don’t think the players voted. That was falsely reported.

I guess you missed the new info from Jimmy Conrad. I posted a link to the “in soccer we trust” pod earlier. Basically the team was pissed that Gio got any minutes at all during the England game, and they thought it was soft of Gregg to not just bench him entirely because of his attitude.

Yeah, it shows a startling lack of maturity. No one is above the team unit, not even Gio.
No one knows when GGG told Gio about his limited role, but I would put money on it being after the scrimmage during training camp. If you put in crap effort in scrimmages and crap effort in training and then the coach tells you, “hey, the way you currently are I can’t justify playing you much,” then you don’t get the right to pout and throw a hissy fit.

Having a starter who plays your position but better (Weah), and then not giving a shite in practice, means you aren’t going to play that much. But for some reason y’all want to blame GGG for a decision that is a basic one for every coach with a pulse, regardless of sport.

Gio says his training and behavior was effected by hearing that his role would be limited. You can choose not to believe him if you want, but it makes more sense than what you seem to believe.

The available info doesnt support that timeline.

I think most people are going to blame Gregg for allowing such a shite situation at the World Cup to develop and for then blabbering shite about one of if not the most talented players we have.
Some people who rate Gio highly are going to blame Gregg for going into the World Cup planning not to use Gio.
And then some people, maybe just you, are going to absolve Gregg of all blame by ignoring what actually happened and acting like managers aren’t expected to handle shite like this.

“Coooooaaacchh, Gio wasn’t trying hard in practice and you played him anywaaaaaay. NOT FAIR!!”
I’m supposed to think it’s terrible that Gio loafed after being told he wasn’t going to play in the biggest soccer event of his life so far, but then treat other players voicing their anger about his few minutes of playing time as a chorus of angels from heaven declaring the truth.

Gio needs to grow up, but Greg is an idiot for bringing this up at all even if he thought it was off the record.

The last two World Cup's are mired by, at best, questionable roster decisions:
- 2014 Leaving Donovan off the Roster
- 2022 Not allowing Gio significant minutes.
