Behind the scenes: One U.S. official said Trump told Netanyahu that following through on his threats to bomb the Lebanese capital would further isolate Israel around the world.

Two of the sources said Trump claimed he'd helped keep Netanyahu out of jail — a reference to his support during Netanyahu's corruption trial.

Summarizing Trump's remarks to Netanyahu, the U.S. official said: "You're fricking crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your arse. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this." A second source briefed on the call said Trump was "pissed" and at one point yelled at Netanyahu: "What the frick are you doing?"

I would like to know why Iran has a problem with Israel bombing Hezbollah. It sounds like an admission to me that they fully support the terrorist group Hezbollah. Haven’t they denied that?

I think he realized this a while back when we started the ceasefires/talks

He realized he was misled by Israel

I have a lot of doubt about the purported Israel intel about nukes

This is why I want Israel to continue the purge.

Wait - Trump should have known of the plan beforehand, and allowed Mexico to cross the Rio Grande to kidnap and kill a thousand Americans, then claim “well we knew nuthin bout that” as a pretense to go into Mexico and wreck schitt?
Seems sort of off.

I don’t really put much stock into these “US Officials” and “Anonymous Sources” stories. They have turned out to be wrong way too often. If you listen to these type sources Trump was choking a Secret Service agent or the driver of The Beast or something like that. The media in this country is atrocious and totally insufferable.

My question has always been how did they suddenly get so close to Nukes when we took everything out last June? The administration was staunch in setting them back years upon years after those strikes only to be told they were now super close.

Something didn't add up.

This was always the rational take

Are you kidding me? Iran is the major funding and arms backer for Hezbollah and Hamas. If they have denied it I dont know why because everyone in the world knows it. It is not any secret.

Yeah, and then the "ceasefire" agreement that Donald negotiated between Israel and Hezbollah lasted about a half hour before the known terrorists lobbed some more rockets Israel's way.

They made it up. Just like they made up the weapons of mass destruction lie.

Iran confirmed to our negotiators that they had enough enriched uranium to make 11 bombs. It was enriched at 60%. That is less than 2 weeks away of further enrichment before it is totally weapons grade. The uranium at 60% can still work. It just wouldn’t be as powerful of a blast.

Also Iran is the people that claimed they could not get to the uranium presently. They said only the U.S. and China had the capability to get it out. I don’t trust a thing they say. That could be a total lie. They say that hoping we buy that line and leave it and then it turns out it was a lot easier to get than they claimed. Either that or they could get China to help did it out later if we were dumb enough to buy anything they say and left it. It’s not like we could bomb the site if the Chinese are there digging it out.

I realize the importance of Israel as an ally, and what they bring to the table with what Mossad can accomplish.

But I also realized the significance of Trump potentially waking up to Bibi being a little unhinged and also Israel's "too much influence" over the US.

I've never subscribed to the whole "tEh jOoS cOnTrOL eVeRyThiNg" theories but I have never liked the fact that they definitely have way too much influence over American politics and policy.

I'd be happy if we completely cut bait for awhile and let Israel figure some crap out on their own and maybe change leadership again. I've historically been somewhat of a Netanyahu-apologist, but I seriously don't like him much any more.

Trump just wants out. He doesn’t want to do what he needs to and will continue to get the runaround from the terrorists. Even his military advisors tell him to attack and he won’t. He looks weak and like a fool. Again
