In the future, history books will also tell about all the gun crime that was cause by the second amendment.
And all the hate that was caused by the first amendment.

When a disinterested 3rd party looks back at this they we see that we were a disjointed country after the Cold War and were not able to recover from it. That starting with Reagan’s 2nd term the country, politically just lost focus and started turning on itself. That we had 6 ineffective peace time leaders in a row that caused the the country to break up or turn authoritarian.

Sure civilization will survive, but the squashing of opposing views by the marxist democrats and their propaganda arm (MSM), social media and corporations is an assault on the norms of a free society.

They are trying to rid the country of conservative views. If you don't see that, it is scary that we have people blinded by their ideals to see something.

If it was the other way around, I would be against a media that is propagandizing, spreading lies, and social media and corps squashing Dem Liberal views.

And that is what's happening now. The Dems are destroying the old and ushering the new communist utopia.

I agree with you but at the same time, this affects my lifetime.

I said 15-20 years ago that I fully expected the USA to be geographically and politically different in my lifetime. I fully believe that within the next 10-20 years there will be states leaving in succession.

Movements, left and right, populist and otherwise, come and go. Presidents come and go. Predictions of the destruction of civilization, or of democracy, or of the American way of life, come and go.

The tide of history is bigger than any politician or movement. The tide rolls in and out over the course of decades and centuries. Ultimately every successful civilization destroys itself, but something new will take its place.

I'm sure the Romans felt the same way you do now. And your point is well taken, as we can see the Roman empire is just as powerful today as it ever was.

Because dictatorships NEVER occur, and countries are never ruined. Just ask the Egyptians, for that matter. Still going strong. Persia? Dynamite. The Soviet Union was a rousing success for the Russians. Nazi, Germany? Just a "curious" point in history.

An election is stolen, not lost, STOLEN... But it's just going to be a footnote in history? You are one heck of a comedian.

I have a feeling you have zero idea just how fragile our civilization really is. One good blackout and it's all over. Luckily they've been investing heavily in our infrastructure and not their pockets this entire time, right?

Ah yes, the tides of history. Hundreds of thousands killed at Verdun and the Somme. Just waves crashing in the echo of antiquity. Thousands of legionaries butchered at Cannae. Just a day in a sea of days. Millions of Russians starved to death in order to create the perfect society. Just another swell in the ocean.

The truth is, the history of mankind is one of suffering. You’d be wise to remember before taking your next chai latte with double whip for granted.

The OP obviously is not a student of History. History is a continuum. Each subsequent event is a direct consequence of the prior.

The fact that we have a top-to-bottom corrupt FBI and IC installed by an anti-American administration led by a 'community organizer'... and after a 4 year reprieve we have a dementia patient as our 'leader'... will absolutely have consequences for you and your children and your grandchildren.

This x 100

I have had it with this mentality:

America is over!
Communists have control of our democracy!
Enjoy living in a socialist hell hole!
We will be Venezuela in less than a decade!

There are two things wrong with this

1) it's absolutely not true. America is rolling and it's gonna keep rolling. By every metric.

2) it's a losers mentality: "I can't participate in society because it's rigged against me. So I'll just stay mad online."

Successful people don't give a damn about the fools in Washington. They're too focused on making a difference in their own lives and in the lives of people they care about.

In 2009, there was all of this doom and gloom going around about the Republican party. There were major newspaper and magazine articles proclaiming the death of the Republican party. Many were convinced that the Republicans would never win the Presidency ever again. And, because of "changing demographics" the Democrats were sure to have not only a large majority in the House, but also both a filibuster proof AND a veto proof majority in the Senate.

At the time, I just laughed it off. I KNEW that the Dims would get in and F*CK EVERYTHING UP and go too far left and that Republicans would get elected to come in and fix up all the insane policys and f*ck ups of the Dims.

It's different now. NO PARTY in modern times, not even the Dims in 2009-2014, talked about ending the filibuster. All have agreed that the Senate should be the deliberative body and that if any majority cannot convince no more than 9-10 Senators from the other side to let a bill come up for a vote, then it's probably something that's pretty damn divisive.

That's has all been thrown out the window.

The Dims actually are trying to RIG THE ENTIRE F*CKING SYSTEM. If they get rid of the filibuster, Republicans will never win the Presidency again. And, when all of their racist and unconstitutional laws make it to the Supreme Court, it will simply be rubber stamped by a packed court filled with 5-9 more FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR left-wing whackjobs and ideologues.

The Dims look at this as WAR. And, like all totalitarian regimes, they will not tolerate any dissent. After all, because their policies are completely f*cking insane and they cannot defend them, they must silence anyone who dares to speak out about them.

DID YOU EVER THINK IN YOUR LIFE that public figures and politicians would openly advocate for REEDUCATION CAMPS for everyone who doesn't march in goosestep with the completely f*cking deranged and demented policies of the Left? In the past, anyone that even suggested that would have been shunned and never heard from again and just thought of as being an insane lunatic. NOW, they are being celebrated and cheered. They actually believe and think that more than half the voting public (does anyone really believe that a dementia-riddled, beyond f*cking corrupt, groping rapist got 80 million votes?) needs to be sent to Naziesque reeducation camps. If that doesn't tell you that we aren't in Kansas (or the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) any longer, you really need to wake the f*ck up.

I think you're the one who needs a history lesson. Our economy is twice the size it was at the beginning of the Obama administration. The average American today has more freedom, lower taxes, better education, better health care, access to more luxuries, and an overall better quality of life than the wealthiest man in the world 100 years ago.

My kids will have opportunities I never dreamed of. America will not just be ok. America is gonna kick arse.
