I don't think that anyone is eulogizing Rob Reiner. All Trump had to do was take that prime opportunity to just STFU for once, but, alas, he was incapable.

Of course not - He deserves no eulogizing from anyone whether they agreed with his politics or not.
But considering that he and his wife were evidently murdered by their own child is not something that should be celebrated by anyone.
Politically it is ok to refute any outlandish eulogies by anyone - by any measure he was not a person to be emulated.
BUT - this OP is obviously trying to minimize the comments by our POTUS. I will repeat again - any POTUS, whether one of our liking or not, should never "speak ill of the recently deceased" -- ESPECIALLY if that death was not caused by natural end of life events. And THIS death was caused by about as horrible method possible outside of medieval torture - and that is to be stabbed to death by your own offspring along with your wife.
This is NOT a situation where negative public commentary about the deceased are appropriate. Nor should unwarranted praise. He was not a good person based on my limited knowledge and I have no warm feelings for him at all. But to celebrate his demise in this instance is beyond reason.
Do NOT be like the asshats who celebrated Charlie's assassination.
