If you don't have 2/3 as provided under the agreed upon process laid out in the Constitution, then you don't have overwhelming consensus .
Come on, even cousin lovers should understand this.

A constitutional amendment will never take place on unless upheaval in country has occurred

Congress has effectively waived their authority on this and many other important issues facing this country. We elected Trump to fix our problems by hook or crook. If SCOTUS drops the ball on this, then Trump should ignore the ruling.
He controls the issuance of passports. He controls who is deported. Will it cause a "Constitutional Crisis"? Absolutely.
But this is where Trump is best. He focuses on a stable issue that he doesnt like...creates chaos and then solves the chaos by remaking or reframing the issue in a way that is better for America.
He said he wanted to be a dictator for "one day", America needs that day to be soon. He is the onl6 one who can fix the problem.

It’s literally the first step in the process.

Pretty sure Trump knows this, hence why the EO and appeal to the SC. The SC will punt this back to congress to have them deal with it.
Agree with your point though about the shite bags in DC. SC will defer to congress, congress critters will stomp around like they want to do something, then say oh well we tried with zero changes made. Rinse and repeat.

The time for passivity has passed. If the United States is to survive, the Caterpillar that is the 1789 Constitution has to cocoon and remerge as something new.

But this power resides with the do nothing shite pieces in Washington DC, both sides. If they wanted this issue resolved, they'd create a constitutional amendment.
You didn’t do well in civics class I gather?

I dont think most right-thinking citizens would object to the trains running on time, figuratively.

It's sad that I get called unAmerican for defending freedom and the Constitution while people like you post this vomit.

Wrong.
Congress could define what "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" means to get rid of it (see Section 5).

Where was Congress granted the authority to unilaterally amend the Constitution?
So they could define "well-regulated militia" in the 2nd Amendment?
Or "freedom of speech" in the 1st?

The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
Enforce the provisions, not redefine the provisions. They can only enforce the Constitutional authority (and the minimums therein).

It's not that you are ignorant....it is obvious that is not true. It's not even that you are wrong. You just root for the wrong team....or more accurately, you say things the other team feels will stand in the way of them winning.
