You are too funny. My wife grew up there. It's a cult. If you ain't in it, you may as well be pond scum because that's how they look AT YOU, but they don't come right out and tell you.

That said, my in-laws have 400+ acres of open land with the Provo River running through it. They`ve offered my wife and I a piece of deeded land to build on and she'll inherit the rest of the land with her two siblings. So, we'll likely build there for retirement.

That's a feature though, not a bug.

Explain how Christianity isn't a cult, then. They both believe in fake shite. Mormonism isn't that much crazier than any other fairy tale religion.

Ye shall know them by their fruits?

"The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it."

Is this what passes for Christian apologetics these days?

The Mormons seem normal compared to what the Methodist Church has become. I left that left wing shitshow a long time ago. Now i’m non-denominational.

Well, the founded by a fraudster in America a couple hundred years ago by being visited by an "angel" who lead him to a 1,400 year old sacred text on gold plates which when he found them they magically disappeared angle is a good start.

Yeah I mean living as a Mormon in 2021 Provo or SLC would be similar to living as a Muslim in Dubai or Singapore. You get the best of what modern society offers but also the traditional lifestyle that your ancestors would want you to pass along to future generations.

You could also just, you know, live there without changing religions or practicing any religion at all.

Look, I get it. I'm not a Mormon, so I have no interest in defending their wacky beliefs. I just find it interesting where people draw their lines.

I don’t think you have to be a Mormon to live in Provo

Spent 6 months in SLC in my early 20s. The first question most girls would ask is are you LDS. If not, good luck.

You’re asking if I would trade in my eternity in order to regain a temporary existence in America?

How about NO?

I wouldn’t leave the truth for a lie just to gain some temporary peace in society. Jesus Christ is Lord and messiah, and it is through faith alone in His sacrifice on the cross that anyone is saved. Trusting in Him will grant eternal peace.

My neighbor is Mormon. Awesome dude with a wife and six kids. No cussing, no drinking, but they do drink caffeine. Really great people to have around.

Pass. Interesting thought experiment but not worth it eternally.
I have the same culture you are in search of at my local church gatherings- albeit on a smaller scale.
Private Christian schools still have it. Where I go it's not woke at all and never will be.

Catholics it is hit or miss from my experience...but much more woke in the city.

IMHO, you've made a strong argument here, Sir.
