Let's say that in April, Trump would have come out and said: I'm not running again. I'm not a career politician. I'm gonna focus on the economy, and covid. And I'm gonna let Mike Pence run for President.

Would Pence have a better shot at beating Biden than Trump?

Would Pence add 8 more years to the Trump Legacy instead of possibly only 4 more with Trump himself?

Very much so. People aren't voting for Biden...they're voting against Trump.

No. He will be demonized by the left as bad or worse than OMB.

Exactly. The next Rep candidate will assume the role of Satan as Trump magically becomes better.

It’s hilarious to me how easily Trumps accomplishments are forgotten . The guy did more in 4 years for our country then any President before him. All while fighting the democrats and media . This post is just dumb , how can you tell a president who is delivered on his promises and made our country successful again to “sit this one out” .

Liberals are voting against Trump rather than for Biden. This is practically a death sentence for Biden’s campaign.

No one...and I mean no one could accomplish what trump has. Any other politician would have thrown in the towel three years ago.

Nobody's asking Trump to “sit this one out”. The thread was a question asking for an opinion..I gave mine.

The Dims and accomplices in the media will demonize ANY Republican candidate. They did it to McCain, Romney, and now Trump. The only difference is Trump fights back. He does not roll over and take it like past Republicans. A few Republicans have seen the light and now realize the media will NEVER be fair or objective. It is a losing battle to try. I would rather lose fighting tooth and nail over losing but playing nice. The Dims never do! I wish these suburban females would finally realize this!

And people are also voting for Trump which wins elections not the other way around.

Pence is smart enough to have been a big force in getting several important parts of Trump's agenda into practice.

From a policy standpoint, I think they've been a good team. I wouldn't discount Pence's value. He has quietly made Trump more effective.

Liberals are all voting for Biden, PLUS a ton of folks (especially women) who just don't like Trump's personality. Unfortunately, in this country, there are many fools who vote for the person, not their policies...sad but true.

No one is suggesting he "sit this one out". But the fact remains that Trump may very be the most hated president in American history. Pence would have certainly demonstrated much more empathy, and he sure as hell wouldn't have let Joe Biden turn a fricking mask into a political weapon. The hard reality is that Trump often can't get out of his own fricking way. He should have had this election sewn up by now.

frick no. This board thinks Pence has a much better appeal than he actually does. Is he great in debates and good at keeping himself out of scandals? Absolutely. While his appeal to evangelicals is very high it is very low with many others. He won't be able to pull the moderates that trump does.

If he wins the republican nomination next election he will lose. He is a good man and has done a great job in his role. I actually think he would make a good pres too but he won't win the election.
