When Elizabeth Dasburg tried to use cash to pay the entry fee to the Fort Pulaski National Monument in Georgia, she was told that the site, part of the U.S. National Park Service, could accept cards only, no cash.
An employee suggested she go to the local grocery store or “big chains like Walmart” to purchase a gift card. “Since those are cards, we can accept them in leu [sic] of cash,” the site employee wrote.
Dasburg and two others who also were denied entrance to a national park unless they used a card to pay the entrance fee on Wednesday sued the National Park Service, challenging its cashless fee collection policy.

How else are they going to ask her for a 20% tip?

This is a major issue that nobody especially under 30 wants to talk about. Once they outlaw cash your bank that is controlled by the government owns you. You have no control of your money. They can shut you down at any time if they don't like you. Check what happened to the protesters in Canada 2 years ago. The country shut down their bank accounts. The war on cash is real & U.S. citizens are not fighting back hard enough.

This make sense. A ranger station isn’t going to have a bunch of cash in it. It’s for practicality and safety.
She sounds like she was looking to make this a problem.

You can call it SAFETY all you want. The issue is they declined a LEGAL TENDER in the US with zero accountability.

What happens when they lose power or internet?

You are a dumb arse. What in the hell do you think they did for last 100 plus years?

How will some folks get a card when they are too stupid to get an ID to vote?

This needs to be made a fricking problem and you are an imbecile if you do not see where this is heading. We need a Constitutional Amendment for this.

Legal tender is is only applicable when there is a debt owed.
So if a restaurant is credit card only you should try to get your food first then pay.

Really? It’s federal money that they refuse to accept

If there is a charge to enter on public land by the government then that charge becomes debt. Seek help

Then how did these stations function as far as accepting entrance fees before plasic was mandated? Were people just admitted in for free? Nah, I didn't think so. They took cash.
No need for the government to actually imbed chips into you when they can know your every move by using electronic transactions you make.

They can no longer trust ticket venders with cash.
Hmmmm? Wonder why? Democrats?

It’s becoming more common. Tiger stadium only takes debit or credit cards for food and drink purchases.

Obviously they can’t collect. They probably shut the park down anyway due to lack of services. I think we are making a mountain of a mole hill. If they collected cash shitheads would be robbing them right and left.
